Position Summary
The Sr. Software Engineer provides software development support by analyzing business requirements to design and develop appropriate systems solutions according to specifications. They provide technical expertise in evaluating, designing, developing, deploying, monitoring, testing and supporting systems and procedures that are cost effective and improve work efficiency. Additionally, the software development engineer partners with enterprise and solution architects to ensure that the application meets company service level standards and roadmap requirements. The software development engineer is embedded within an agile team and is able to quickly adapt to shifting business priorities. The Sr Software Engineer will work in a product team operating model with a Product Manager, a UX Designer and other software engineers.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Develop front-end, back-end, and/or middleware solutions to given problems
  • Translate business needs into technical requirements
  • Provide constructive feedback in code reviews and help others to become better developers
  • Maintain and iterate on multiple interconnected build systems
  • Own the development of scalable single-page applications
  • Write well-designed, efficient code that works across devices
  • Develop high-demand authoring and user experiences
  • Stay up-to-date on cutting edge technologies/tools in the Web Development sphere
  • Create Proof of Concepts/Rapid prototypes and implement them
  • Contribute to CI/CT/CD process using DevOps tools
  • Contribute to Grooming/Planning/Scrum meetings and be a part of required scrum events
  • Analyze end user needs and design, develop and unit test your software
  • Contribute to design and coding standards to ensure consistency across applications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Experience with headless application architectures
  • Experience with frontend tools & technologies, such as Next.js, Webpack, modern JavaScript, TypeScript, Storybook.js, and React
  • Experience with APIs and webhooks a plus
  • Experience with web performance and accessibility tools and techniques is a plus
  • Experience developing for CMS platforms
  • Experience with Content Management Systems is a plus
  • Experience with Git is a plus
  • Ability to discover requirements from provided graphical designs
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and inter-personal skills
  • Demonstrate strong time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to provide exceptional support to both internal and external customers
