What is a web manager?

A web manager is responsible for maintaining, designing, and developing a business website, based on the field or specifications set by a client. Your duties include monitoring, assessing, and reporting on online content performance, ensuring a website functions and software is up-to-date, and handling a range of online marketing projects from search engine optimization to social media practices. You may also develop content and monitor web traffic. Since you oversee staff, communication skills are vital. Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree and at least five years of proven on-the-job experience for this career.

Job description

Description
The platforms people use every day are the ones that shape how an enterprise works, and someone has to own them. The Red Gate Group is seeking an expert Web Developer to support a major Intelligence Community customer's CIO organization, serving as the senior web development authority across the enterprise and building the custom web applications, dashboards, and digital platforms that operations and mission requirements run on.
You will bring expert-level SharePoint and web development skill to the full stack of the work: developing dashboards, workflows, and custom web applications, and managing front-end services including website and web page creation, permission groups, site administration, and solution creation. You will troubleshoot issues and support users directly with a proactive approach, stay ahead of upcoming platform updates and upgrades, and perform the technical work of upgrading and migrating sites between versions and servers so the enterprise never gets stranded on aging infrastructure.
This is also a leadership seat. You will manage day-to-day web development operations, provide technical guidance to the project team, and review the quality of every web product so deliverables meet required standards and compliance. If you want to be the authority an enterprise turns to for how the web gets built, this is the seat.
Join us. The mission works where the platforms work.
You Have
  • 12+ years of experience in web development or a closely related field, including recent experience within the last 2 years. This experience requirement is firm and cannot be met through education or certifications.
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Web Development, or a related discipline, or one of the following in its place: an Associate's degree in a related field and 4 additional years of relevant experience, a Bachelor's degree in a related field and 2 additional years of relevant experience, or 6 additional years of relevant experience. The additional years used in place of the degree are on top of the 12 year experience requirement above, not counted within it.
  • Expert-level SharePoint development and administration experience, including site administration, permission groups, and solution creation.
  • Experience developing dashboards, workflows, and custom web applications.
  • Experience performing site upgrades and migrations between platform versions or servers.
  • Demonstrated leadership in identifying, planning, developing, and executing web development strategies aligned with organizational mission objectives, including providing technical guidance to a project team.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance.

Nice If You Have
  • CI Polygraph.
  • Experience supporting an Intelligence Community customer.
  • Experience reviewing and enforcing quality, standards, and compliance across web products.
  • Experience providing direct user support in an enterprise environment.
