Software Implementation Specialist:
Journal Technologies is looking for a high-energy, results-oriented project professional to work on implementation projects for our growing software and services company. A successful candidate will have a background in software rollouts including requirements gathering, environment setup and install, configuration/development, training, go-live, and support.
The Software Implementation Specialist (SIS) will work as a member of the implementation team. The SIS is responsible for delivering contracted products and services such as reports, business rules, and general software configuration. The SIS will interact with customers as a primary representative for Journal Technologies as well as coordinate and complete a variety of activities in the configuration process. The Software Implementation Specialist will be a standing expert on Journal Technologies' Product offerings, our internal implementation processes, and the customer's business processes.
Responsibilities
  • Configure case management software, including forms, searches, workflows, and business rules using Groovy and Velocity.
  • Gather requirements for data conversions, documents, and reports; support development, testing, and review.
  • Conduct client training and provide onsite go-live assistance.
  • Troubleshoot technical and procedural issues and escalate blockers appropriately.
  • Work with Java, Windows Server environments, relational databases, and REST/SOAP APIs.
  • Manage assigned work and status updates in Jira.
  • Collaborate within a Scrum team and communicate effectively with clients and internal stakeholders.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 1+ years of professional experience querying relational databases, preferably T-SQL or PL/SQL.
  • Implementation Specialist experience or comparable software implementation experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of several of the following: Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle, JasperReports or Crystal Reports, SSRS, Java, Groovy, and Velocity.
  • Familiarity with current web technologies, operating systems, Windows Server environments, and REST/SOAP APIs.
  • Ability to learn and apply complex software concepts, follow established procedures, troubleshoot problems, and escalate issues appropriately.
  • Strong technical curiosity, critical thinking, attention to detail, accountability, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work effectively through ambiguity, and communicate blockers early.
  • Strong client service, interpersonal, and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage assigned work in Jira and collaborate effectively within a Scrum team.
  • Ability to travel to client sites as required.
  • Experience working within Agile teams or formal training in Scrum or Agile methodologies is considered a strong asset.

  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Court or justice-industry knowledge.
