Summary

We are recruiting a junior software developer to design and deliver end-to-end solutions in SAP S/4HANA. Based in Calgary, reporting to the Business Systems manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting projects and initiatives to completion that will support corporate goals and objectives. The successful candidate will develop solutions with local and remote teams, internal and external resources. This role is designed as an entry point into SAP development, with structured training and mentorship in ABAP, Fiori/UI5, mobile development, and S/4HANA technologies.

Role and Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and implement end-to-end SAP solutions.
  • Develop clean, modular, testable, object-oriented ABAP using modern 7.4+ syntax.
  • Design and implement new solutions using SAP's latest emerging technologies, including Fiori and SAPUI5.
  • Demonstrate UI/UX design best practices
  • Follow strict coding, naming, documentation, and change log standards.
  • Participate in code reviews and architectural discussions.
  • Support testing, QA validation, and Production deployments.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize time with minimal oversight.
  • Translate complex business requirements into scalable SAP solutions.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • 0-2 years of experience in software development (Co-op/Internship experience considered) is preferred
  • Recent graduates are encouraged to apply
  • Exposure to (including academic or project) web application development concepts (HTTP request/response model, RESTful APIs including ODATA, JSON data structures, and browser concepts like the DOM)
  • Familiarity with version control tools (e.g., Git)
  • Understanding of object-oriented programming principles
  • Basic knowledge of debugging and troubleshooting techniques
  • Understanding of software development best practices (clean code, modular design, separation of concerns, and basic refactoring for maintainability).
  • Understanding of Software Development Lifecycle
  • Familiarity with any modern programming language (e.g., Java, Python, C#, or similar) is an asset
  • Experience with JavaScript and HTML5
  • Awareness of UI/UX best practices is a plus
  • Interest in learning SAP technologies (ABAP, Fiori, S/4HANA)
  • Exposure to enterprise systems or ERP concepts is considered an asset
  • Familiarity with systems integration concepts (e.g., APIs and basic data modeling) is beneficial
  • Strong decision making, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong analytical/problem-solving ability; able to balance business and technical constraints.
  • Knowledge of automated unit testing techniques and test-driven development is considered an asset.
