Job description

Avion Solutions Inc., an employee-owned company, is seeking candidates for a Senior Web Applications Developer to support the Maneuver Air Directorate, Assault and Attack Division. This position is based in Huntsville, AL.

Job Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Join an existing development team to provide full-stack maintenance and capability expansion to both mature and new .NET web applications.

  • Assist with the modernization of .NET Framework web applications to .NET Core.

  • Help to expand AI integrations and capabilities within existing web applications, tailored to the specific needs of Army Airworthiness.

  • Work closely with stakeholders to analyze requirements and make design recommendations.

  • Participate in frequent meetings with user community representatives to understand user needs, processes, and inefficiencies across a diverse set of use-cases from various user groups.

  • Provide user demos and training in the use of system capabilities.

  • Report on progress to management and other stakeholders, taking personal responsibility and ownership of the features that you develop.

  • When needed, provide direct user support for the entire application suite through Teams, email, and in-person.

  • Design well-written and well-documented code.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience:

  • A Computer Science (or similar) degree with 15+ years of experience developing complex client-server web applications in the Microsoft .NET technology stack.

  • Experience with database schema design and writing T-SQL (UDFs, SPROCs, Views, etc.) using SQL Server Management Studio.

  • Experience with Entity Framework ORM.

  • Experience with WebForms, Model-View-Controller (MVC) design patterns and ASP.NET Razor Pages.

  • Ability to design intuitive, interactive, and responsive user interfaces using JavaScript, JQuery, Bootstrap, or similar libraries, with a strong understanding of good user experience (UX) design.

  • Must be a U.S. citizen and have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance.

  • Must be able to travel up to 15% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience designing Blazor web applications.

  • Experience integrating vector databases alongside structured databases.

  • Experience integrating LMs into functional tools (e.g., semantic search, file interrogation, document parsing and summarization, etc.).
