  • The FHA Web Content Writer / Editor Specialist and Trainer is responsible for planning, developing, managing, and maintaining digital content that supports organizational objectives and enhances user engagement across public-facing and internal web platforms
  • Collaborates with project managers, subject matter experts, communications professionals, designers, and stakeholders to create, edit, and publish accurate, accessible, and user-focused content that aligns with organizational branding, messaging, and digital communication strategies

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • The position edits content, manages any reviews needed, and uses the Content Management Systems (CMS) to upload, maintain, and post content on agency websites and intranets
  • Optimizes text for Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and ensuring all web pages are compliant with federal accessibility laws (Section 508); coordinates the Agency's quarterly certification process for up-to-date information
  • Develops and maintains web pages, coordinating content updates, ensuring compliance with accessibility standards (e.g., Section 508 and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)), applying search engine optimization (SEO) best practices, monitoring content quality and performance, and managing content through CMS
  • Ensures digital content is current, technically accurate, visually consistent, and optimized for usability across multiple devices and platforms while supporting strategic communications, stakeholder outreach, and organizational transparency through effective digital information management

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Marketing, Business, or in a related discipline.

Experience:
  • 5-7 years of experience in web content management, 3 of which shall be within the last 5 years
  • FHA transportation experience, especially in highway and surface transportation is preferred
  • Must have experience in writing and editing, documentation, writing/editing effective training materials, using a presentation app, providing quality control of data/content, and presenting outreach training to staff
  • Must have the ability to use graphic applications to crop, recolor, resize, and manipulate web images when needed
  • Web experience required
