The OSU Beaver Store has an opportunity for you!


This exciting role will be vital to the General Merchandise team as you will provide "Best in Class" customer service, enhance our website, and process web orders. Read more and see if the position of Assistant Website Specialist aligns with your career goals. This is a full-time, non-exempt, benefit eligible position working 35-40 hours per week year-round. Who We Are

We are a student-governed nonprofit company that has been supporting the OSU community since founding in 1914. We operate the official campus store of the university in Corvallis as well as the OSU Beaver Store serving alumni and fans in Keizer, Oregon. Our mission is to operate the university retail stores for the benefit of the OSU students, faculty, and staff. With a little over 80 employees, we are proud to serve the Beaver community!


RESPONSIBILITIES


  1. Accurately and securely process all orders received via web, phone, and mail.
  2. Day to day maintenance of the website, including:
    1. Maintain accurate inventory levels
    2. Merchandise product and category landing pages, maintain consistent look/feel
    3. Execute online sales, marketing and promotions
    4. Add new products to the web in a timely manner from the time received
    5. Write product description/copy
  3. Maintain open lines of communication. Network with internal stake holders, problem solve and develop solutions.
  4. Collect and share data to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of website operations
  5. Ability to use and edit images in Photoshop
  6. Develop thorough understanding of website operating system
  7. Assist on the sales floor; receive and stock merchandise; assist Customer Service as needed
  8. Partner with Website Specialist to achieve goals as set by the GM Supervisor and COO

REQUIRED DEMONSTRATED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES


  1. Must be organized, effectively multi-task and maintain attention to detail
  2. Work a flexible schedule, including occasional weekend and evening hours.
  3. Follow established company directives, policies, guidelines and expectations
  4. Show consistent dependability in attendance, handling multiple tasks, prioritizing and meeting deadlines
  5. Work within an open area team environment
  6. Effectively communicate in a professional manner
  7. Use sound judgment when making decisions

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  1. H.S. Diploma or GED
  2. Data processing training or experience in a Microsoft Windows environment
  3. Proven proficiency using Adobe Photoshop

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS


  1. Retail e-commerce experience
  2. Experience using POS systems
  3. Experience in processing web, telephone, and/or mail orders
  4. Knowledge of Oregon State University

Physical Demands:

Use a computer keyboard, read a computer screen; bend, crouch, lift and carry up to 50 pounds; fold and package merchandise; move wheeled carts and use of a hand truck.
