Job description

Modu Design Communications is interested in working with an intermediate print and digital freelance designer with 3+ years experience and available to work remotely during regular working hours (9-5). We are a fast-paced team with high-profile clients across a number of industries. Both our clients and ourselves have high standards.

Some of our clients include Scene/Cineplex, Manulife Financial, University of Toronto and BMW. Our ideal candidate should be educated in design fundamentals, be technically proficient as outlined below and be able to self-manage. Just as essential, however, they must be able to respond to inquiries quickly, be able to communicate effectively with other team members and adhere to project timelines.

Key Responsibilities: Excellent design layout skills for print and web, a good understanding of design principles and the ability to conceptualize and execute. Design/production of print collateral for client projects including booth graphics, flyers, brochures, logos, business cards, and other types of media. Creating clean HTML and CSS for online projects such as websites, microsites, e-newsletters and banner ads.

Meeting deadlines through project management. Familiarity of adhering to and understanding corporate brand guidelines. You must possess the following skills and experience: 3+ years of design experience in an agency setting 3+ years of HTML / CSS coding experience (tableless HTML design) Strong experience with Adobe Creative Suite programs such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, and InDesign Strong knowledge in the use of design concepts (layout, typography, color, white space, and grid and understanding of print concepts (bleed, resolution, and color) Strong knowledge of HTML5, JavaScript, CSS including Javascript frameworks such as jQuery Proficiency with cross-browser / cross-platform issues and web standards Working knowledge of Flash.

Experience with the following would be considered an asset: Development with PHP / MySQL Experience with open source CMS packages such as Wordpress, Joomla or Drupal Copy writing for client deliverables and corporate communications Web Analytics using a variety of tools like Google Analytics Illustration experience Provide: Resume Provide a portfolio of your work 2 reference clients to validate your work Note: Only short-listed applicants will be notified.
