Job description

The Mission Critical Applications Section requires a motivated and customer-focused individual to join the Mission Critical Applications team as a Critical Applications Support Analyst. In this role, you will support key policing systems-including RMS, CAD, and their integrated applications-ensuring users receive timely and effective technical assistance. You will troubleshoot issues, assist with system updates, and contribute to small enhancements that improve how these critical systems operate. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or an internal candidate seeking a new challenge in a mission-critical IT environment that directly supports public and officer safety. Roles and responsibilities include:

  • Provide support for mission-critical applications (RMS, CAD, and integrated systems), including troubleshooting and issue resolution
  • Respond to incidents and service requests with timely and professional communication
  • Assist with system testing, updates, and minor enhancements
  • Support small projects and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Work collaboratively with internal IT teams, business stakeholders, and external vendors
  • Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to knowledge sharing
Qualifications
  • Degree in a related discipline and 1 year of relevant experience OR Post secondary diploma in a related discipline and 2 years of relevant experience OR 1 year related certificate and 4 years relevant experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases

Hours of Work: 33.75 hours per week, 0800 - 1600 hours Monday - Friday. Hours of work may be subject to the terms and conditions of a variable hours of work program. Incumbents must be available for call-out outside of these hours on a rotational basis.
Salary Range: 21M, Salary Grade: 044, $48.84 - $61.54 (Hourly), $3,296.80 - $4,154.40 (Biweekly), $86,045.63 - $108,430.43 (Annually).  The rates quoted are in accordance with a collective agreement between the Union and the City of Edmonton.
