Job description

Schedule/Hours: Regular Part-Time at 16 hours/week, Saturday/Sunday 1:00 PM - 9:00 PM OR Friday/Saturday 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM

This position is responsible for:

Providing childcare services for adolescents including personal care, hygiene, learning, developmental activities, and specialized programs. Plans, develops activities; prepares and maintains records; meets with Leads/Case Managers to discuss progress of children. Utilizes positive parenting practices in dealing with negative behaviors of children. Maintains cleanliness and orderliness of property.

Key Responsibilities:

· Provides constant care for the needs of the children in an efficient, clean, loving, safe, secure, and healthy manner.

· Implements age-appropriate activity and development plans utilizing discovery areas and hands-on activities.

· Observes the needs and progress of the children, communicates with Lead/Case Manager providing input and documentation on the physical, emotional, social, and academic needs of the individual children.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Work is performed in a normal childcare environment where there may be changes in weather and discomforts associated with outdoor activities at playgrounds, parks, beaches, and pools.

Education and Experience:

· High school diploma or G.E.D. AND

· Two years’ Childcare experience (experience with teens preferred) with knowledge of the principles and practices of Child Behavior and Development, OR

· Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Licenses and Certifications:

· Valid State Driver's License and driving record approved by Territorial Headquarters Risk Management.

· Must possess valid CPR/First Aid Certification.
