Job description

News Anchor Essential Functions

A dynamic, energetic, and self-motivated individual responsible for writing, producing, and presenting accurate balanced daily news stories for the station's newscast.

1.     Produces content daily for live newscasts and pre-recorded newscasts where applicable.

2.     Researches, investigates, writes, produces, and anchors general news or special news assignments-recorded and/or live from the studio/field.

3.     Produces newscasts rundowns.

4.     Works closely with Assignments Editor, Producers, MMJs and all other staff to ensure all stories are updated and fact checked.

5.     Ability to create original content and stories for daily newscasts when applicable.

6.     Attends and participates in off-site company-sponsored and community events as assigned by station management.

Weather Anchor Essential Functions

Responsible for relaying the market's weather forecast and stories in a way that connects with and captivates viewers, and conveys the brand.

1.     Produce weather graphics and analyze data from the National Weather Service as well as other meteorological sources.

2.     Create complete coverage of weather stories.

3.     Prepare and post forecasts for multiple platforms.

4.     Spearhead special weather coverage during severe weather events
