Job Summary: 

QRG Capital Management, Inc. is a unit of Envestnet, Inc., and focuses on providing quantitative investment management solutions, including direct indexing, to its clients in the wealth management channel. QRG provides both equity and fixed income separate account strategies and uses quantitative processes to systematically construct and manage its client accounts. According to Cerulli Associates, QRG is one of the largest direct index solutions providers.

QRG is seeking an Investment Management Operations Specialist to help contribute to the management of the investment portfolios for our clients, and to assist with various investment operations functions.

Job Responsibilities:

The Investment Management Operations Specialist role consists of three primary areas of responsibility:

Investment Operations:

  • Understand and apply the QRG bundle to configure and set up client accounts correctly within QRG’s internal processes and workflows.
  • Monitor and manage QRG’s various communications inboxes, facilitating illustration requests, and responding to questions from advisors and internal constituents.
  • Ensure that all account paperwork is complete before transitioning to the portfolio manager for final review.
  • Collaborate with the portfolio manager to resolve any discrepancies or issues in account setups and portfolio configurations.
  • Prepare accounts for review by the portfolio manager, ensuring everything is ready for their evaluation and approval.
  • Assist with trading reviews and the trade execution process.

Client Engagement: The Investment Management Operations Specialist assists with client engagement across multiple aspects of our business.

  • Respond to advisor communications and requests pertaining to the firm’s investment strategies and processes.
  • Responsible for advisor outreach to maintain regular contact with advisors using the firm’s investment strategies.
  • Assists with efforts to respond to due diligence requests from prospective clients and present investment reviews for existing relationships.
  • Coordinates updates of data to our internal systems and third-party consultant databases and assist in the creation and development of PowerPoint decks and other sales and marketing materials that effectively communicate portfolio strategy and performance.
  • Ensure that the presentation materials are clear, visually appealing, and provide valuable insights to clients.

Portfolio Monitoring, Analysis & Reporting: The Investment Management Operations Specialist is involved in and partners with the team on the management of our investment strategies, including providing feedback on portfolio design, construction, implementation and analysis.

  • Assist in monitoring portfolio performance, including periodic (e.g., daily, monthly, or quarterly) updates on performance metrics.
  • Generate portfolio performance attribution reports and assist in analyzing results.
  • Conduct research on investments, market trends, and other relevant factors to inform portfolio decisions.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for portfolio managers or clients, summarizing portfolio performance, returns, and other key metrics.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Adherence to and application of Envestnet legal, compliance, risk, business continuity and administrative policy within the role and department(s) including the timely completion of training & awareness, affirmations and testing as requested. 
  • As part of the responsibilities for this role, you will understand and readily support Envestnet's established corporate business practices, policies, internal controls and procedures designed to create value or minimize risk.

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree: concentrations in Economics, Finance or related disciplines desired
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • A high degree of intellectual curiosity
  • High attention to detail
  • Hard working and eager to be involved in a collaborative team environment

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Progress toward and/or a desire to pursue the CFA is preferred
  • Previous exposure to other areas of investment management or capital markets, such as through previous work in trading, investment banking, consulting, asset management, hedge funds, or in another investing or finance capacity is not required but is a plus
