Position Overview - Deschutes is seeking an experienced and relationship-driven Senior Investment Advisor, CFP to join its growing Portland office. This individual will primarily be responsible for managing and expanding wealth management client relationships while supporting the continued growth of the firm's advisory platform.


The ideal candidate brings strong experience working with high-net-worth individuals, executives, and business owners, along with a passion for delivering comprehensive financial planning and investment guidance.

Responsibilities

Wealth Management & Client Advisory

  • Serve as the primary advisor for an assigned group of wealth management and financial planning clients 
  • Build and deepen client relationships through exceptional service and strategic financial guidance 
  • Collaborate with senior financial planning professionals on complex planning engagements 
  • Support business development efforts through referrals, professional relationships, and personal networks 
  • Promote the firm's full suite of advisory and planning services to prospective and existing clients 

Client Experience & Team Collaboration

  • Partner with the wealth management team to ensure a seamless onboarding experience for new clients 
  • Work collaboratively across the organization to support client needs and overall team success 
  • Provide support to other members of the Deschutes team as needed 
  • Contribute ideas and participate actively in a highly collaborative office culture 

Technology & Systems

  • Maintain proficiency and stay current with key systems and platforms including: 
    • Charles Schwab 
    • eMoney 
    • Orion 
    • Wealthbox 
    • Microsoft Office Suite 

Professional Development

  • Maintain required continuing education standards for CFP and licensing requirements 
  • Participate in occasional company-sponsored conferences, training, and educational events, including some overnight travel


Requirements

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required 
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience as an Investment Advisor or in a comparable advisory role 
  • Active Series 65 license 
  • CFP designation required 
  • Experience working with high-net-worth clients, executives, and business owners 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and financial planning software such as eMoney (or similar platforms)

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation Range: $100,000 - $150,000+ first-year compensation, depending on experience, with significant upside tied to revenue growth and firm success.
