YOUR IMPACT

GSFO is in search of a Vice President to lead the rollout, execution, and ongoing optimization of advanced wealth planning capabilities for the firm’s most strategic UHNW clients and family office relationships.

This individual will serve as a senior planning specialist and trusted partner to Private Wealth Advisors and other internal subject-matter experts. The Vice President will lead the development of complex, integrated financial analyses that help clients understand their consolidated net worth, liquidity needs, cash-flow outlook, wealth-transfer objectives, and key planning trade-offs.

Private Wealth Management (PWM)

Goldman Sachs Private Wealth Management (PWM) specializes in creating comprehensive wealth management plans for high net worth individuals and families, as well as select institutions, including foundations and endowments. PWM Teams work one-on-one with clients to advise and deliver customized strategies drawn from our deep investment experience, diverse wealth management capabilities and global reach. Our Private Wealth Advisors (PWAs) deliver an unparalleled investment platform inclusive of the full product and service offerings of Goldman Sachs and beyond, which may include tax and estate planning, philanthropic planning and private banking and lending services. As client needs evolve, this close relationship allows the team to offer complementary services and new opportunities by leveraging the resources of Goldman Sachs and beyond.

Goldman Sachs Family Office (GSFO) works in coordination with Private Wealth Advisors to develop strong ties with clients to deliver a full suite of wealth planning and family office services.

HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL

  • Lead the design and delivery of comprehensive wealth planning and modeling for UHNW individuals, families and family offices.
  • Serve as a senior wealth-planning resource for the firm’s most sophisticated client situations, including those involving substantial private-business interests, complex ownership structures, concentrated assets, private investments, leverage, philanthropy, and multigenerational wealth-transfer goals.
  • Act as a subject matter expert, assisting advisors in building maintaining complex, nested-entity balance sheets that consolidate assets, liabilities, ownership interests and cash flows
  • Assist advisors in developing advanced, dynamic cash-flow models incorporating investment income, operating business distributions, liquidity events, private-investment capital calls and distributions, debt service, taxes, lifestyle spending, philanthropy, insurance, and planned wealth transfers.
  • Assist advisors in developing advanced tax-efficient wealth transfer analysis — including the optimization of irrevocable trusts, lifetime gifting programs, and pre-transaction planning.
  • Participate in client meetings to explain planning analyses, assumptions, scenarios, and trade-offs in a thoughtful and client-appropriate manner.
  • Serve as an escalation point for the most technically complex client situations and advisor requests; assisting advisors in building models while also advancing their own skills
  • Identify recurring advisor needs and work with Product and Engineering to translate them into enhancements to tools, processes, data infrastructure, and reporting capabilities.
  • Train and mentor Private Wealth Advisors, analysts, associates, and planning professionals on the interpretation and application of advanced financial models.
  • Provide guidance to junior team members on financial modeling, data review, scenario analysis, client presentation development, and disciplined planning practices.
  • Promote consistent adoption of wealth-planning tools, processes, and standards across the GSFO and Private Wealth Management platform
  • Bachelor's Degree Required; Preferred degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. An MBA, JD, CFA, CFP, or other relevant advanced degree/certification is highly preferred.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in private wealth management, family office advisory, complex financial planning, trust and estate planning, transaction advisory, private banking, accounting, valuation, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience developing sophisticated financial models involving multiple legal entities, intercompany relationships, and consolidated family balance sheets.
  • Strong understanding of UHNW client financial structures, including trusts, partnerships, LLCs, private businesses, investment entities, and charitable vehicles.
  • Working knowledge of estate-planning, gift-planning, trust, tax-aware wealth-transfer, and philanthropic-planning concepts.
  • Advanced Excel modeling skills, including scenario analysis, dynamic cash-flow forecasting, data validation, model auditability, and presentation-ready output design.
  • Ability to synthesize complex financial information into clear written materials and executive-level presentations.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead, influence, and collaborate effectively within a team and across various stakeholders, including leading reporting initiatives.
  • Resourceful, self-starter, attentive to detail and capable of multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
  • Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), Series 7 & Series 63 exams (must be obtained within first 3 months of employment)
