Senior Private Wealth Associate (4–8 Years) – Austin, TX (Onsite)
Full-Time | High-Net-Worth Estate Planning | Top Compensation + Bonus

Direct Counsel represents a well-regarded Am Law firm seeking a Senior Private Wealth Associate to join its Austin office. This is a premier opportunity for an experienced trusts & estates attorney to work with high-net-worth individuals and families on sophisticated wealth planning and transfer strategies.

This role offers significant responsibility, including leading matters, mentoring junior team members, and serving as a key advisor to clients.

What You’ll Do:

  • Design and implement advanced estate planning strategies for high-net-worth clients
  • Draft complex estate planning documents, including revocable trusts, ILITs, SLATs, GRATs, and IDGTs
  • Advise on gift, estate, and generation-skipping transfer tax planning
  • Structure transfers of business interests, QSBS stock, and real estate assets
  • Oversee trust and estate administration, including modifications, decantings, and terminations
  • Conduct sophisticated, multi-jurisdictional estate planning analysis
  • Supervise and mentor junior attorneys and support staff

What We’re Looking For:

  • 4–8 years of trusts & estates or private wealth experience
  • Strong background in high-net-worth estate planning and tax strategy
  • Experience managing complex matters independently
  • Leadership ability and experience mentoring junior team members
  • Excellent research, writing, and communication skills
  • LL.M. in Taxation or Estate Planning strongly preferred
  • Strong academic credentials
  • Active Texas Bar admission (or eligibility) required
