Overview
The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for design, review, & execution of financial analysis functions including analyzing and reporting the financial performance of the company; coordinating development of and reporting against the annual operating plan and quarterly rolling twelve-month reforecast; provides analytical support of other accounting & finance areas as well as operations and other support functions.
Education & Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or related field or equivalent demonstrated skills and experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, and/or cost accounting is required.
- Experience working with large, complex datasets, and building scalable data models and reporting tools is strongly preferred.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Job Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Drive the development and implementation of annual operating plans, rolling forecasts, and long-range financial models.
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual variance analysis and communicate key drivers.
- Prepare financial reports and executive summaries for management.
- Assist in development and monitoring of key performance indicators.
- Leverage AI for automation and data validation[CS1] while working within FWM AI guidelines.
Data Management and Analytics
- Extract, analyze, and validate financial and operational data.
- Develop and maintain structured datasets to support reporting and forecasting.
- Identify opportunities to automate reporting and improve data accessibility.
- Perform data reconciliation between source systems and financial outputs.
Sales and Product Portfolio Analysis
- Partner w/ Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) and Commercial Sales teams to analyze product and customer portfolios to inform specific interventions and enable corporate and commercial strategies.
- Monitor global customer and product trends to highlight organizational threats and opportunities.
- Model the financial impact of cost changes, process efficiency, and customer pricing.
Modeling & Decision Support
- Develop financial models for capital investments, pricing decisions, and scenario analysis.
- Own analytical support for strategic initiatives and cross-functional projects.
- Quantify financial impacts to support decision-making.
Process Improvement
- Identify and implement improvements to financial processes and reporting workflows.
- Partner with finance, operations, and IT to enhance systems and data structures.
- Maintain documentation of processes, assumptions, and data sources.
- Perform other duties as requested by management.
Skills Needed
- Proficiency in SQL for data extraction, transformation, and validation preferred.
- Advanced Excel skills (financial modeling, large dataset management).
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics AX or D365) preferred.
- Experience with business intelligence or planning tools (e.g., Power BI, Domo, IBM Planning Analytics) preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
