Job description

M&T Enterprises is hiring a full-time Underground Utilities Supervisor to lead field crews installing sewer, water, and storm drain systems. Supervise work, enforce safety, verify grades, and keep projects on schedule.

Daily responsibilities include:

  • Lead crew day-to-day: trenching, pipe laying, bedding, backfill, and compaction.
  • Read plans and set/verify grades; operate and interpret pipe lasers, GPS, and surveying tools.
  • Coordinate with inspectors and project management; provide daily progress updates.
  • Enforce OSHA/company safety rules; run toolbox talks and incident reporting.
  • Maintain and secure tools, equipment, and vehicles; arrange basic maintenance.
  • Manage crew productivity, quality checks, and timeline adherence.
  • Train and mentor crew members; address on-site issues decisively.

Required

  • 3+ years as a pipe foreman or lead in heavy civil/utility pipe work.
  • Able to read plans, shoot and interpret grades, and use pipe lasers and GPS.
  • Experience with heavy equipment operation or direct coordination with operators.
  • Valid driver's license; reliable attendance.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen.
  • Dependable, safety-minded, and detail-oriented.

Preferred

  • OSHA 10/30, NCCER, trenching/shoring certification, or CDL.
