Summary
The Material Handler is responsible for supporting production operations by ensuring all assembly lines are continuously supplied with the materials and components needed to maintain efficient workflow. This role operates as a "water spider," proactively monitoring multiple lines, restocking hardware (such as screws and components), and ensuring carts and materials are properly staged and accessible.
This position also maintains organization and cleanliness of material carts, including glass carts, and assists with material flow throughout the production area. When production gaps arise, the Material Handler may be required to support other areas by assisting directly on the production line or in other departments as needed.
Essential Functions
    1. Transports completed part boxes or materials to designated staging areas or within various production lines
    2. Properly identify and locate all parts according to established procedures
    3. Maintain organization and readiness of material carts within production areas
    4. Ensure glass carts and related equipment are clean and in good working condition
    5. Meet Division metric requirements
    6. Participates in morning meetings / Safety Huddles
    7. Complete equipment maintenance checklist
    8. Delivers materials and components to production lines to support daily operations and address material shortages ("hot parts")

  3. Must be able to read and process written communication including, but not limited to, work orders, delivery receipts, prints, and measurements.

  13. Responsible for the forklift housekeeping and daily forklift inspection.
  14. Must be able to work indoors and outdoors.

Supervisory Responsibility
This role does not have any supervisory responsibility upon hiring.
Physical DemandsWhile performing duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active - while performing this job the employee is regularly standing walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, balancing, reaching, handling, and climbing all day. The employee may have to lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

This position requires Personal Protective Equipment such as work gloves, safety glasses, ear plugs, cut resistant sleeves.
Additional items required but not included are steel toed shoes or boots with metatarsal guards.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time hourly position, and hours of work and days are based upon the need to support operations and production.

There is no travel required for this position.
Required Education and Experience
  1. High school degree or GED (not necessary).

Preferred Education and Experience
  1. 1-3 months related work experience and/or training.
  2. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence preferred.None.Must be able to pass EVerify.
