The Sommelier is responsible for ensuring that each guest is hosted with genuine care and attention throughout his/her/their dining experience. This individual assists with all wine inventory, storage and serving for the restaurant, and makes sure to keep the lead sommelier and management up to date on the progress of items, as well as changes and/or issues.
As an integral part of a team, the Sommelier is responsible for continuously looking for ways to improve each guest's experience from greeting through service, pace, teamwork, menu knowledge and thoughtful anticipation of the guest's needs.
The role will serve as a FOH representative of our brand, and will aid in serving wine, as well as bussing tables, resetting tables, pouring water, running food, making cocktails, taking orders, and more. The Sommelier needs have a "can-do" attitude, willing to jump in and help as needed in the restaurant. Experience as a server is strongly preferred.
The Sommelier is responsible for motivating and mentoring the staff's wine knowledge, as well as delight guests with their wine knowledge and descriptions of wine pairings for the tasting menu. With a Michelin Star expectation, we are looking for a professional who wants to continue to elevate our dining experience.
Requirements:
Experience with the POS system or the like.
Basic wine and spirit knowledge.
Ability to assist guests and possess great guest relations skills.
Must be upbeat, outgoing and positive.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to be on your feet and alert for extended periods of time.
Ability to work effectively within a team.
Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Basic math skills.
Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. as needed.
Continuous use of hands and arms.
Continuous bending, reaching and twisting.
