Quality-Scrap and Sample disposition
Finishing Responsibilities:
  • Perform AQL audit on production prior to processing to Shipping (running final inspection station).
  • Verifying all information on Tags is correct. (part #, piece counts, lot code)
  • Verify associated paperwork is with container - Traceability with employee processing
  • Help Train New Employees on Casting Defects -
  • Assist with Hot Inspection items as needed- (gathering parts from beginning and end of each job run).

  • Scrap audits - mapping defect locations and cavity #
  • Feedback for scrap reduction
  • Control inventory of Samples (location, part #, piece counts, lot code)
  • Maintain scrap inventory log
  • Verify associated paperwork is with container - Sample Routing
  • Assure representative examples of scrap issues are available for scrap meetings

Required Skills

  • Fork Truck license
  • Dump scrap in melt department scrap bay
  • Basic Computer skills (Edit and Print Sample packets)
  • Communicate sample feedback to tooling group
  • Assist with collection of castings for dimensional inspections

The noise level is such that earplugs must be worn at all times. Personal protective equipment must be worn at all times (ex. hard hat, safety glasses, ear plugs, and steel toe shoes). Safety equipment is provided by the Company with exception of steel toe shoes, which must be provided by employee upon the first day of employment. Shift times are subject to change. Employees must be willing to work 10 hours in one shift. Refusal to work as needed is considered a voluntary quit.
Overtime: Employees must be willing and available to work overtime on a on-going basis if needed. Refusal to work mandatory overtime is considered a voluntary quit. Overtime will paid for all hours worked in excess of forty hours in any one week.
