Job description

We are seeking a Fall 2026 Water Resources Engineering Intern for the Infrastructure group in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. 

The Water Resources Engineering Intern will collaborate with and mentored by top Engineering associates on our team. The position will assist on both design and plan preparation for stormwater management and drainage design projects. This is an amazing opportunity to gain hands-on experience and a better understanding of the Transportation and Water Resources Engineering industries.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with stormwater management, drainage design, hydrologic, hydraulic and water quality modeling and environmental permitting
  • Prepare plans, designs, specifications, and cost estimates
  • Gather and provide data for the preparation of engineering reports and studies
  • Perform and review design calculations

Qualifications:

  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an ABET accredited university
  • A working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as an intermediate level of technical writing and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3.0 GPA or above
  • AutoCAD and/or Microstation experience
  • Drainage software experience
  • Experience or exposure to Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) plans preparation and design standards
