Scope of Position

The Quality Engineer serves as a technical, subjectmatter expert and key contributor, partnering crossfunctionally to strengthen management of the Quality Business System, Production Quality, Supplier Quality, and Continuous Improvement Processes. This role does not include direct reports but may indirectly oversee one or more employees in the quality department.

This position reports to the Quality Manager and is onsite in Export, PA, with up to 25% of domestic travel.

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities

Customer Quality Leadership

  • Lead customer quality issue resolution, including root cause analysis and corrective action.
  • Manage customer quality programs with professional customer communication.
  • Track, trend, and report on customer quality data.
  • Drive global resolution of quality issues as required.
  • Elevate customer interaction standards across Quality.
  • Serve as a crossfunctional liaison on key quality assurance issues.
  • Utilize Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) tracking systems to maintain a credible corrective action board.
  • Support Tiered Daily Management and Continuous Improvement Operating Systems.

Production Quality

  • Maintain control of the MRB process and nonconforming material.
  • Identify productiondriven customer issues and implement preventive controls.
  • Implement errorproofing methodologies across manufacturing.
  • Execute layered processes and product audits to ensure quality performance.

Supplier Quality

  • Provide timely, detailed feedback to suppliers for improvement.
  • Partner with Corporate Supplier Quality to identify opportunities and manage supplier improvement initiatives.

Quality Systems

  • Support customer, agency, and internal audits.
  • Maintain site certifications and audit readiness.
  • Advance quality tools, including RCCA, PPAP, gage R&R, SPC, and process controls.
  • Support the Corporate Quality Operating System, including:
    • MOR analysis and reporting
    • Data integrity and reporting
    • Annual and strategic planning
  • Perform additional duties and projects assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, or a related technical/business field.
  • Candidate must have a diverse background Including experience in engineering, manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Facilities.
  • Results driven, competitive, and able to handle ambiguity
  • Project management experience required.
  • 5+ years of experience applying Total Quality concepts including root cause excellence, project management excellence, and PPAP excellence, all in a manufacturing environment.
  • 5+ years of quality leadership experience (direct or indirect).
  • Expertise in New Product Development processes.
  • Experience in implementing SPC and advanced analytical techniques.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of engineering, Lean, Six Sigma, and quality principles.
  • Ability to interface effectively with customers and suppliers.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Read and interpret manufactured parts drawings.
  • Experience with metrology and calibration.
  • Knowledge of applicable laws, codes, regulations, and safety practices.
  • Must successfully establish employment eligibility and satisfactorily complete background checks and required pre-employment testing as a condition of employment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification preferred.
  • PMP Certification
  • Certified ISO Auditor or ISO Lead Auditor is a plus

Working Conditions

While performing the job duties, you will be working on-site at a manufacturing facility and will perform the majority of your duties in an office environment. You may, at times, be required to be present on the manufacturing floor and will be required to wear the appropriate personal protective equipment. You will be required to work in the office at the Export location (Monday - Friday). Your scheduled work hours will be communicated to you by your manager. You will maintain an office in the factory. The temperature in the factory is not temperature controlled. The noise is loud. There are machinery, dust, fumes, and particulates in the air.

  • Ability to remain seated at a desk or workstation for extended periods.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks like typing on a keyboard or using a mouse for extended periods.
  • Ability to physically move around the office and shop floor, organize or transport files, packages, or other office-related materials.
  • Ability to read documents, use a computer, and perform data entry tasks.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with management and coworkers, particularly in meetings or phone calls.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment such as computers, printers, phones, and copiers.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry light objects, such as office supplies, documents, or small equipment.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment, which may include, but is not limited to, safety shoes, hearing protection, and safety glasses.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
