Job description

The Meter Inspector, Contracted Services will primarily inspect contracted work
to ensure compliance with meter installation procedures, Division specifications,
contract documents and local/national codes for electric, gas or water metering
and associated equipment. This job is parallel to the Inspector Contracted
Services job classification assigned throughout the Construction and
Maintenance Division. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: The Inspector Contracted Services
job classification is responsible for inspecting, facilities location, street repair,
outdoor lighting, Electric Distribution, Gas Distribution, and/or Water Distribution.
Read/inspect large commercial/industrial meters for billing and survey purposes.
Change cartridges from recording demand meters and enter metering data in
appropriate places; set and/or correct meter clock when necessary/make
notation of actual time and recorder time as required. Perform other job duties as
required.
A valid driver's license from state of residence is required.
CERTIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) is required.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Works outside majority of the time. Subject to hazards of weather, energized
equipment, industrial machines and construction sites, dogs, falls, working and
driving in traffic (bad roads, ice and snow heavy lifting, and other physical
activities such as climbing, pulling, pushing, grasping, bending, stooping,
