Job description

Aquarion Water Company is the public water supply company for more than 750,000 people in 72 cities and towns throughout Connecticut, as well as serving customers in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. Job Summary

The Utility Operations Team (Southern) at Aquarion is looking for an intern! The intern in will be primarily working out of the Stamford CT office. The chosen candidate will be exposed to a vast amount of water distribution processes both in the field and in the office.

Principal Responsibilities

In this role, you will be working closely on computer documentation verification, drawing and tap card submissions, document filing and other office duties as needed. You will have the opportunity to work in the field along side our distribution and service team. There will be an opportunity to learn about our locating services, hydrant/valve maintenance, flushing, and leak detection responsibilities with our distribution team as well as fluid hydraulics and how water flows from different water systems. With our service department you'll have the opportunity to learn about our meter change program, disconnections, customer dealings, and more.

Preferred Requirements
  • Proficiencies with office products like excel, word, PowerPoint, outlook, etc.
  • Hands on experience in any background.
  • A desire to learn and grow.
Education/Certifications
  • Must possess a valid state driver's license.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be able to work independently, thoroughly, and safely, applying training given.
  • Intern must be enrolled in an accredited college program. 
Salary
  • The internship will run from mid-May through end of August, 40 hours a week (on-site). 
  • Intern will report to our Stamford office.
  • Hours will be 7:00AM to 3:30PM, Monday through Friday (flexible).
  • This position will pay $19.00 an hour.
