Job description

We Are Seeking Team Gilbert has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated professional to fill the position of Water Treatment Plant Operator II & III. The Water Treatment Plant Operator reports to the Water Treatment Plant Utility Supervisor.

The primary duties of the Water Treatment Plant Operators include: Operate the water treatment plant, including supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system or manually. Conduct minor plant and equipment maintenance, including general housekeeping, and assist maintenance staff. Perform laboratory analysis and jar test to determine optimum chemical dosages.

Additionally, the Water Treatment Plant Operator is responsible for keeping logbooks, lab books, lab reports, midnight daily total reports, inspection reports, backwash logs, and updating the ozone database. Operate and monitor water treatment plant systems using DCS and SCADA computer systems, conduct visual plant inspections, monitor plant operations and processes, and work safely with and around treatment Chemicals. Detect problems to ensure proper operation and make process decisions as deemed appropriate.

View the full job description The pay range for the Water Treatment Plant Operator II is $30.94/hr - $46.41/hr The pay range for the Water Treatment Plant Operator III is $33.00/hr - $49.49/hr This position is an At-Will position and is FLSA Non-Exempt - eligible for overtime compensation. In addition to possessing the ability to live out our core and functional values daily. Candidates for a Level II Operator must meet the following requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.). 2 years of specialized or technical training beyond high school in water treatment

2-5 years of experience in surface water treatment plant operations, water distribution systems and related equipment maintenance. Must be able to work day or evening shift as required and overtime when necessary. Grade 2 ADEQ Water Treatment and Grade 2 Distribution Certification.

Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work. Candidates for a Level III Operator must meet the following requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.). 4 years of specialized or technical training beyond high school in water treatment

2 years of experience in public sector water distribution system plus 4 years of experience in water treatment. Must be able to work day or evening shift as required and overtime when necessary. Grade 3 ADEQ Water Treatment Certification and a Grade 3 Water Distribution Certification.

Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work. Work will require climbing portable ladders and entering confined spaces. Operators work varied shifts, requiring availability on a rotating schedule for workdays, evenings, nights, and weekends.
