Overview

***This position will be physically located in The Marshall Islands in support of LOGCAP*** 

Under the supervision of the Public Works Director, the Water Production/Distribution Manager is responsible for the planning, operations, management, distribution, and daily supervision of water and water distribution activities on the LOGCAP contract. Works on water production and distribution related solutions exercising independent judgment in developing methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining LOGCAP Program.


Responsibilities

This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company.

  • Responsible for the planning, operations, management, distribution, and daily supervision of water production and distribution activities on the LOGCAP contract.
  • Assists workers in repairing water facilities and equipment, applying general knowledge of water collection and safety procedures, and using hand tools.
  • Monitors preventive and corrective maintenance work orders from start to completion.
  • Works on water production and distribution related solutions exercising independent judgment in developing methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining LOGCAP
  • Program results in concert with and at the direction of the Public Works Director.
  • Responsible for the preventive and corrective maintenance program in the water plants.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education if degree is required.
    • Must be able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC)
    • Must be a U.S. Citizen
    • High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering or technical field preferred.
  • Licenses/Certifications:
    • Must be a Certified Back flow Prevention Assembly Tester
    • Must have a Level III Water Treatment Operator License with ability to obtain level IV ( example TCEQ Class B or Class A - highest Level)
  • Experience:
    • Ten (10) years related experience in water treatment and water distribution operations.
    • Minimum five (5) years supervisory experience in the management of personnel.
    • Experience with municipal Water production and Water Distribution systems.
    • Previous experience in a contingency environment is a plus.
  • Working Conditions:
    • Must be capable of working in an extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
    • Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, wet, tropical environment with average temperatures of 130 degrees in the summer months).
    • Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well.
    • The worker is subject to noise. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard about ambient noise level.
    • The worker is subject to hazards. Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals
    • The worker is subject to outside environmental conditions. No effective protection from the weather.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
    • Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.
    • Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.
    • Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.
