Qualifications:
Must be age 16 by June 3, 2026 to apply
Show proof of Water Safety Instructor Certification
Desire to invest in individual achievement
Desire to provide an organized and positive learning environment
Evidence of relationship building with youth
Evidence of specific sport or program knowledge and experience
Evidence of initiative taking and self-directing
Evidence of leading/directing peers or other staff
Pay Rate/Range: $17.18/hr.-$18.51/hr.
Compensation/Benefits/Perks: This position is not eligible for benefits.

Responsibilities:
-WSI's will attend staff training on the evening of June 3rd, and will attend one to two further trainings throughout the summer.
-WSI's will lead the administration of established curriculum.
-WSI's will oversee program leads and assistants in all classes running, and are responsible for the coaching effectiveness of staff and the quality of the program, with help of recreation coordinator and site supervisor.
-WSI's will oversee child behavior, and implement the disciplinary action plan as needed.
-WSI's will arrive early, know and fully execute the plan for each day, engage 100% throughout the program, teach general disciplines of each activity, enhance skill development, build relationships with youth, and communicate as needed with parents/guardians.
-WSI's will show enthusiasm and create fun, positive experiences through words, actions, and non-verbal's.
-WSI's will keep track of time worked and record on timesheet.
-WSI's will openly communicate with the recreation coordinator, in a timely manner, regarding vacation requests, program issues, etc.
- WSI's will be required to work up to two Saturday swim lessons, or two evening swim lessons.
