Job Description
The Disposal Technician is responsible for the proper disposal of spent chemicals, process waste, and unused laboratory samples used in the laboratory, according to corporate, federal, state and local guidelines. Responsible for safely transporting process waste and unused samples within the laboratory environment.
This is a physical job and involves moving around, lifting, bending, disposing of garbage. It is dirty and the environmental samples can have strong odors.
Responsibilities include:
  • Proper disposal of samples.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization in the waste disposal room and loading dock area including waste removal throughout the day.
  • Properly utilize personal protective equipment at all times while disposing of samples.
  • Load and unload pallets/ boxes/ materials.
  • Assist with sample transfer between departments within the laboratory.
  • Assist Sample Custodian with sample location as well as returning samples to cooler in proper storage locations (temperature = 4°C) for 3-4 hours per day.
  • Organize samples located in waste disposal room.
  • Help clean and organize coolers.
  • Remove samples from coolers to table, & sort them accordingly
  • Learn & become knowledgeable of bottle types, sample test codes and preservatives
  • Must adhere to analytical and quality control protocols described in SOP's, the QA Manual, and project specific requirements.
  • Will assist with other assigned projects as needed.

Qualifications
Basic Minimum Qualifications (BMQ):
  • Education: High school diploma or GED.
  • AA degree in a life or physical science (Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Studies, etc) preferred.
  • Current, valid driver's license.

Ability and/or Skills (BMQ):
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
  • Detail oriented, flexible, dependable, willingness to learn new things
  • Must be a team player and have good communication and organizational skills

Additional Information
Requirements:
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
  • Professional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in English

Position is full-time Monday - Friday 8:30 am - 5:30 pm, with overtime as needed. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Atlanta, GA are encouraged to apply.
Pay rate: $17-18/hr
Eurofins Environment Testing (USA) provides a compensation range for informational purposes, the actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience and skill set, base salary of internal peers, business sector, and geographic location.
