What you can expect to be doing:

Haley Ward is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Solid Waste Engineer to join our team. The Solid Waste Engineer will be responsible for designing and implementing waste management systems, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing technical expertise in waste disposal and recycling. This role requires strong problem-solving abilities and a deep understanding of waste management principles.

  • Develop and implement waste management plans to meet environmental standards and regulations.
  • Conduct site assessments to determine the feasibility and effectiveness of waste management systems.
  • Design and oversee the construction of waste disposal facilities.
  • Stay informed about advancements in waste management technology and industry best practices.
  • Conduct research and analysis to identify innovative waste management solutions.
  • Monitor waste management systems and evaluate their effectiveness, making recommendations for improvements as needed.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to internal and external stakeholders on waste management issues.
  • Prepare reports detailing waste management activities, compliance, and performance.

What you will need to succeed:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years of experience working as a Solid Waste Engineer or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of waste management regulations and best practices.
  • Proficient in waste management software and tools.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional Engineering (PE) license.
  • Experience with landfill design and operation.
  • Project management experience.
