Appliance Repair Technician
Location: St. Bernard (Cincinnati), OH
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
Schedule: Full-Time, Day Shift
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Appliance Repair Technician to support a leading consumer products research and development facility in St. Bernard, Ohio. This position is responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, calibration, and testing of residential and commercial laundry and dishwashing appliances used in a laboratory environment.
The ideal candidate has strong appliance diagnostic skills, experience repairing washers, dryers, and dishwashers, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced technical setting.
Essential Responsibilities
Appliance Installation amp; Relocation
  • Receive, unpack, and install washing machines, dryers, dishwashers, and specialty appliances.
  • Disconnect, move, and reinstall appliances between laboratory locations.
  • Prepare equipment for shipment, donation, recycling, or disposal.
  • Coordinate equipment movements with laboratory personnel.
Diagnostics amp; Repair
  • Troubleshoot appliance failures to the component level.
  • Diagnose and repair washers, dryers, dishwashers, mini washers, and commercial laundry equipment.
  • Complete repairs using OEM replacement parts and manufacturer specifications.
  • Update customers regarding repair timelines and parts availability.
  • Respond to equipment issues and complete troubleshooting in a timely manner.
Preventive Maintenance amp; Testing
  • Perform washer, dryer, and dishwasher calibrations and testing on a recurring schedule.
  • Record calibration and test results accurately in electronic and written formats.
  • Inspect equipment daily for leaks and operational issues.
  • Replace valves, belts, motors, latches, and other common mechanical components as needed.
  • Perform routine lubrication and maintenance on equipment.
Facility Support
  • Monitor dryer duct systems and remove lint buildup to maintain safe operation.
  • Inspect and clear washer drain troughs and drain lines.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
  • Follow all site safety protocols and contractor training requirements.
Qualifications
Required
  • Minimum of 2 years experience repairing household and commercial appliances.
  • Strong troubleshooting and mechanical diagnostic skills.
  • Experience working with washers, dryers, and dishwashers.
  • Ability to read and follow technical procedures and maintenance documentation.
  • Ability to safely move and install large appliances.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred
  • Advanced appliance repair experience with the ability to diagnose failures to root cause.
  • Experience with commercial laundry equipment.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequently lift, move, and position appliances and equipment.
  • Stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work in active laboratory and maintenance environments.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds and move heavier equipment with assistance or appropriate tools.
