What is a warm line?

A Warm Line is a peer-run support service that provides non-crisis emotional support, active listening, and resource referrals to individuals who may be experiencing stress, loneliness, or mental health challenges. Unlike hotlines, which are typically for urgent crises, Warm Lines are for people seeking someone to talk to before things escalate. Staffed by trained peers with lived experience, Warm Lines offer confidential, non-judgmental support over the phone, chat, or text. They are designed to promote mental wellness and prevent crises by offering early intervention and community connection.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a warm line operator?

To thrive as a Warm Line Operator, you need a background in mental health support, basic counseling skills, and often some post-secondary education or training in psychology or social work. Familiarity with call center software, confidential documentation systems, and sometimes certifications like Mental Health First Aid are typically required. Exceptional active listening, empathy, patience, and emotional resilience help operators build trust and provide meaningful support to callers. These skills are crucial for offering effective, compassionate assistance to individuals seeking non-crisis mental health support and for ensuring caller safety and well-being.

What are some common challenges faced by warm line operators, and how can they be managed effectively?

Warm Line operators often encounter emotionally intense conversations and must support callers experiencing stress, loneliness, or mental health concerns. Managing emotional boundaries while providing empathy can be challenging. Effective strategies include regular supervision, peer support, and ongoing training in active listening and self-care techniques. Most organizations also encourage operators to take breaks and utilize debriefing sessions to process difficult calls.

What is the difference between Warm Line vs Crisis Hotline Worker?

Job description

Auntie Anne’s & Cinnabon Shift Manager

Lead the Twist. Lead the Roll. Become an Auntie Anne’s & Cinnabon Shift Manager!

Our Mission: To create moments of joy through freshly baked pretzels, world-famous cinnamon rolls, and exceptional guest experiences.

Your Mission: Bring that mission to life—every single shift.

Since day one, Auntie Anne’s has been known for its hand-rolled pretzels and fresh-baked goodness, while Cinnabon has delighted guests with warm, irresistible treats and iconic Makara® cinnamon. Together, we create memorable experiences that turn everyday moments into something special.

We're growing our team and looking for motivated, people-first leaders to step into a Shift Manager role.

If you're ready to blend leadership with positivity, pride, and great food, this is your moment.

As a Shift Manager, you're more than a supervisor—you're the heartbeat of the bakery and pretzel shop. When the General Manager or Assistant Manager is away, you keep operations running smoothly, the team energized, and guests leaving happy and satisfied.

What You'll Do
  • Lead the team and serve as the go-to leader during your shift
  • Maintain high standards for product quality, service, cleanliness, and food safety
  • Motivate and coach team members to deliver excellent guest experiences
  • Handle challenges confidently—from team needs to guest concerns
  • Support operations for both Auntie Anne's and Cinnabon products and standards
  • Know when to escalate issues to store leadership
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and inventory management

Perks You'll Love
  • Key holder opportunities with opening and closing responsibilities
  • Flexible scheduling with 20–40 hours per week
  • Free on-duty shift meals and employee discounts on Auntie Anne's and Cinnabon favorites
  • Training and development opportunities to support career growth
  • Free uniforms
  • Eligible benefits may include:
    • Health insurance
    • Life insurance
    • 401(k)

What We're Looking For
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • 3–6 months of first-line supervisory experience preferred
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • TB clearance required (if applicable by location)
  • 0–1 year of food service, bakery, or retail experience
  • Ability to stand, bend, lift, scoop, and stay active throughout your shift
  • Comfortable working in warm and cold environments (ovens, prep areas, walk-ins)
  • Basic math and computer skills (Microsoft Office, POS systems)
  • Ability to taste-test products for quality assurance
  • Cash handling and customer service experience a plus
  • Food handler certification (current or obtained within 30 days of hire)
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience
  • Comfortable using smartphones, tablets, and POS technology
  • General knowledge of food service, bakery, or quick-service restaurant operations is a bonus

Ready to Lead with Flavor?

Join the Auntie Anne's & Cinnabon team and twist your passion, leadership, and future into one exciting opportunity.

Apply today and help us serve joy—one pretzel and one cinnamon roll at a time! ??
