Job description

Peoplelink Staffing Solutions is seeking Shipping/ Receiving Associates in partnership with prominent clients in the Binghamton and Hilcrest, NY areas within a manufacturing setting. This role is responsible for coordinating the movement of goods in and out of the facility, requiring a combination of administrative, organizational, and physical skills.
Summary
Shift: 1st: 6am - 4:30pm
Salary: $18 - $20 per hour based on experience.
Shipping/ Receiving Associate Job Duties:
  • Coordinate and manage the inbound and outbound flow of materials within the warehouse.
  • Prepare, package, and properly label products for outbound shipments, ensuring accuracy and quality.
  • Receive incoming deliveries, verify contents, inspect for damage, and log shipments accurately.
  • Generate packing slips and shipping documentation using the company's ERP system.
  • Select appropriate packaging materials based on product type and customer specifications.
  • Verify order details prior to shipment to ensure correctness and completeness.
  • Coordinate transportation services per customer instructions or identify the most cost-effective shipping method when no preference is provided.
  • Work closely with production, quality, and other departments to resolve shipping issues and meet delivery schedules.
  • Prepare and distribute documentation required for quality and compliance purposes.
  • Route or deliver received materials to the appropriate internal departments.
  • Process return shipments and complete all required paperwork.
  • Perform material handling duties, including operating a forklift.
  • Complete additional duties or special projects as assigned by management.

Shipping/ Receiving Associate Qualifications and Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 1-2 years of experience using Microsoft Windows applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, etc.).
  • 1 - 3 years' experience in shipping, receiving, and inventory control.
  • 1-2 years of experience working with an ERP system.
  • Understanding of HTS codes, ECC codes, and international shipping requirements preferred
  • Experience participating in or supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Previous forklift operation experience preferred. (1-2 years).
