The Purchasing Manager will manage vendor relationships, negotiate pricing, monitor inventory levels, and ensure the timely delivery of packaging products to support production schedules and customer demand.
Procurement & Purchasing
- Source and purchase packaging materials, cartons, labels, corrugated products, plastic components, and other production-related supplies.
- Prepare, issue, and manage purchase orders and supplier agreements.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment activities to maintain uninterrupted production operations.
- Track supplier lead times, product availability, and delivery schedules.
- Develop and maintain relationships with packaging suppliers, manufacturers, and distribution partners.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and service agreements to maximize value and control costs.
- Evaluate supplier performance related to quality, delivery, and responsiveness.
- Analyze purchasing trends and material costs to identify savings opportunities.
- Partner with operations and finance teams to support budget and inventory objectives.
- Assist with demand forecasting and procurement planning.
- Work closely with production, warehouse, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure material availability.
- Proactively address supply shortages, delays, and inventory issues.
- Support new product launches and packaging updates by coordinating material procurement.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier files, contracts, and purchase orders.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and quality standards.
- Generate reports on purchasing activity, inventory levels, and supplier performance.
- Previous experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or inventory management.
- Experience purchasing packaging materials, consumer products, or manufacturing-related supplies preferred.
