What You'll Get To Do

The Warehouse Manager is responsible to assist with the managing of the daily activities of the Distribution Center involving people, process, systems, warehousing, shipping and related services to achieve customer service, satisfaction and cost objectives.

A key aspect of this role is to provide effective leadership, communication and motivation to achieve operational objectives. 

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for all aspects of shipping and receiving functions and working closely with our carriers partners
  • Works closely with management and personnel at the corporate office
  • Maintain control of inventory and equipment
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations
  • Responsible for the security of property
  • Ensure the branch operates in an efficient manner by utilizing effective methods of packing, set-up, delivery, pick-up of book fairs; utilize capacity planning and staffing methods to assure optimum productivity.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and productive work environment, while complying with OSHA guidelines, and Company directives.
  • Direct, hiring, training, developing and evaluating drivers, warehouse personnel and supervisory staff.\
  • Execute Company policies, procedures, and programs in a professional, effective, and timely manner.

What We Are Looking For:  

  • 5+ or more years of managing a warehouse team with proven leadership preferred.
  • Exposure to all key facets of distribution operation.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and ERP software.
  • Experience with forklift, stock picker, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment a plus.
  • Problem solver with a 'can do' attitude.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and handle deadline-oriented tasks.
