Job description

Position Responsibilities
(Daikin Division Williams Distributing Co. and Shoemaker Inc.)
The Warehouse & Relief Driver plays a dual role in ensuring efficient warehouse operations and supporting local deliveries. This position is responsible for off-loading, put-away, picking, staging, and inventory management of equipment and parts, while also serving as a backup driver to deliver products to customer and company locations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, safety awareness, and excellent customer service skills.
May include:
  • Safely operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment to load/unload and transfer materials
  • Receive, stock, and organize inventory in designated locations
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with cycle counts
  • Complete will calls and prepare orders for delivery or customer pickup
  • Ensure warehouse cleanliness and safety through daily inspections and good housekeeping practices
  • Assist customers and internal staff with product inquiries and order fulfillment
  • Wear proper PPE and uniform during all shifts
  • Follow standard operating procedures and company policies
  • Serve as a backup driver for local deliveries as needed
  • Safely load, secure, and deliver products to customer sites using company vehicles
  • Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of delivery vehicles and forklifts
  • Maintain compliance with DOT regulations and company safety standards
  • Accurately complete delivery logs and related paperwork
  • Provide courteous and professional service during deliveries
  • Assist with front counter or branch operations when required

Knowledge & Skills
  • Minimum 21 years old
  • Possesses a valid driver's license in the state of employment
  • Has a working knowledge of commercial truck mechanics
  • Has a working knowledge of current Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations
  • Has a minimum of 1 year of verifiable commercial driving experience within the past 3 years
  • Placement as driver is contingent upon successful completion of DOT road test, pre-employment drug & alcohol testing, and background check
  • DMV record cannot reflect an excess of 2 moving violations and/or preventable accidents within the past 3 years
  • Valid driving license with excellent driving record
  • Must pass DOT standards
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to proficiently use MS Office including Outlook & Excel, Mincron and a scanner

Experience
  • Minimum 1 year of warehouse experience
  • Minimum 1 year of operating a DOT regulated vehicle, box truck preferred
  • Current Valid Driver License

Education/Certification
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Valid driver's license Chauffeurs with clean driving record
  • DOT screening annually
