This Warehouse Operations Manager is responsible for delivering safe and efficient operational performance by strengthening our processes, ensuring our compliance, and developing our people. The scope of this role includes everything that may impact the safe, accurate, and efficient processing at the site. A high level of communication is required to keep team members, colleagues, and leadership informed on site performance, opportunities, and risks. This is a critical role in the supply chain with access and visibility to senior leadership and customers. Professionalism is both expected and always required.
This position is on-site in our Exton, PA facility from Monday through Friday.
How you'll make the impact:
  • Role model team-member safety and food-safety through all you do.
  • Provide and maintain a safe and healthy working environment for employees and visitors.
  • Ensure that Customer, Supplier, and Carrier needs are at or above the service levels set by our company.
  • Communicate effectively to your team, your colleagues, and your manager.
  • Recruit, hire, train, maintain, and lead a team of highly qualified people to achieve the company objectives.
  • Maintain GDP certification and top score of Excellent (or like) in pursuit of Food Certification.

Operational Management
  • Ensure policies and procedures are communicated, trained, understood, followed, and enforced.
  • Ensure transactions for all material movements are both accurate and timely.
  • Ensure reports are updated, accurate, published, and communicated timely.
  • Leverage KPIs to ensure operational consistency and performance. Key metrics include timeliness and accuracy of all warehouse operations from inbound to internal to outbound handling of inventory.
  • Identify, develop, and implement procedural changes to improve safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of the operation.
  • Adhere to standards and best practices, all operations can benefit from each other's expertise and learning.
  • Provide the resources needed (equipment, supplies, labor) to the operation. Document the need and justification.
  • Provide a carrier and driver experience that will result in ACR being viewed as a 'Shipper of Choice' with carriers.

Team Development
  • Develop yourself by staying current on industry and business trends. Develop your team by securing training, resources, and experiences that strengthen them.
  • Insist on an environment of accountability by communicating the standards of behavior and performance then coaching, counseling, and correcting to achieve operational and organizational results.

Strategic Planning
  • Anticipate operational needs and develop plans to overcome them. Involve others early in this process so that solutions have the support of affected departments and teams.
  • Create and manage to a budget no matter if bottom-up or top-down driven.
  • Prepare and present justification and business cases for changes that will improve operational and business results.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve our utilization of shipping capacity and effectiveness
  • Monitor industry trends and advancements to keep our sites modern and competitive.

Requirements
What you'll need to be successful:
  • 5+ years of experience in a leadership role within warehousing and/or manufacturing environments; prior people-leadership required
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration with a focus in operations management or project management or logistics management or equivalent experience
  • Must possess exceptional attention to project details and the development of alternative plans to ensure satisfactory delivery of supplies and materials on the customer's timeline
  • Working knowledge of MS Office suite including Word and Excel
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) skills and the need to align and influence the thinking and commitments of others, challenge and influence the thinking of organization leaders
  • Demonstrate the ability to work well both independently and in a team environment

  • The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
