Job description

Position Summary:

Responsible for handling the daily (routine) management of warehouse associates. The warehouse Lead is accountable for ensuring that the warehouse associates are maintaining the highest degree of accuracy and efficiency relating to receiving, stocking and shipping merchandise. The warehouse lead will also engage in the daily warehouse functions alongside the team.

  • Planning, coordinating and monitoring of the team activities to meet our 4 core objectives:
    • Provide a clean, organized and safe working environment.
    • Execute process to meet customer expectations for shipping accuracy.
    • Receiving and Inventory accuracy. Ensuring processes are adhered.
    • Maximizing the team capacity to meet our internal customer needs.
  • Maintains receiving, warehousing and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating and enforcing policies and procedures. Manage incoming and outgoing shipments and inventory.
  • Receives Merchandise and verifies accuracy of inbound shipments in a timely manner.
  • Prepares and processes reports of inbound shipments and distributes the merchandise to stock locations.
  • Organizational skills- inventory staged, located, current, and accurate shipping and receiving records.
  • Uses forklift to move product throughout the building while navigating turns and aisles safely.
  • Pulling, organizing, and staging parts and units for building.
  • Counts and reconciles a small portion of selected items daily to maintain an accurate inventory. Cycle Counting.
  • Collecting product required for orders using detailed pick tickets ensuring accurate quantities and part numbers are collected for orders.
  • Participates in Warehouse best practice teams. Utilizing SunSource best practice for warehouse operations.
  • Computer software for small parcels, freight shipments, and inventory.
  • Packs merchandise properly to ensure safe arrival to its destination and labels packages appropriately according to details on pick ticket.
  • Coordinates with external shipping companies on appropriate mode of transport for shipments and processes accordingly.
  • Prepares all shipping documents, calculates shipping charges and maintains daily shipping records.
  • Order shipping and receiving supplies, boxes, tape, packing materials, etc.
  • Maintains a safe and courteous work environment. Keep area clean and organized.
  • Take care of receiving service repairs that are dropped off to the shop by the customer. Handle walk in customers and will call orders.
  • Paints service and repair units quickly so they are ready for customer/salesman to pick up.
  • Additional responsibilities may include painting and tagging completed units. Pulling and staging units to be built.
  • Education - High school diploma or GED, or equivalent years of experience.
  • Experience - 2 to 4 years shipping/receiving experience in warehouse and distribution required. Experience working with FedEx, DHL and other shipping programs desired. Must have a valid driver's license and be able to drive to pickup and deliver packages, pallets, and parts when needed.
  • Physical Requirements - While performing duties of this job, the employee is required to use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, kneel, stoop, crouch or crawl. Spatial acuity is required to move parts within work station and overall warehouse using both manual dexterity and forklift. Be able to operate a pallet jack, forklift, and overhead hoist and crane. Must be able to lift and push a minimum of 75 lbs. intermittently throughout an 8 hour day.
  • Schedule- Normal work hours are 8am-5pm, Monday- Friday but may vary depending on freight and/or parcel pickups.
