ABOUT THE ROLE

The Warehouse Associate plays a critical role in supporting construction operations through the transportation, tracking, maintenance, and organization of tools, equipment, and materials. Approximately 70% of the role involves driving between project sites throughout the Windsor-to-Toronto corridor, with the remaining 30% focused on warehouse operations, inventory management, shipping and receiving, and equipment maintenance. The successful candidate is safety-focused, highly organized, mechanically inclined, and committed to providing exceptional service to internal teams while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The following duties are representative of the position; other duties may be assigned as required.

Logistics and Site Support

  • Deliver and pick up tools, equipment, and materials between the warehouse and project sites.
  • Load, unload, secure, and transport materials safely and efficiently.
  • Coordinate deliveries and pickups to support project schedules and operational needs.
  • Maintain professional interactions with project teams and site personnel.

Warehouse Operations and Inventory Management

  • Receive incoming materials, tools, and equipment and verify quantities and documentation.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records for tools, equipment, and consumable materials.
  • Organize warehouse and yard areas to ensure efficient storage and retrieval of materials.
  • Assist with shipping, receiving, and distribution activities.
  • Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment in accordance with company procedures.

Tool and Equipment Maintenance

  • Inspect tools and equipment for damage, wear, and repair requirements.
  • Perform minor repairs and preventative maintenance on small tools and equipment.
  • Coordinate equipment testing, calibration, and inspections to ensure compliance with legislative and company requirements.
  • Track maintenance records and support equipment readiness for field operations.

Facility and Vehicle Support

  • Assist with general warehouse, yard, and building maintenance activities.
  • Support after-hours security and facility monitoring as required.
  • Conduct routine inspections of company vehicles to ensure cleanliness, safety, and operational readiness.
  • Report maintenance issues and coordinate repairs as necessary.

Safety and Compliance

  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and SafeRing Program requirements.
  • Wear and maintain required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Participate in safety meetings, training programs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Promote a positive safety culture and demonstrate safe work practices at all times.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Minimum 3โ€“5 years of warehouse, tool room, construction support, or related experience.
  • Experience supporting construction or industrial operations is preferred.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Valid Ontario Class G driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Ability and willingness to operate a forklift (training and certification provided).
  • Comfortable driving long distances between project sites throughout Southwestern Ontario and the Greater Toronto Area.
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform minor tool repairs and preventative maintenance.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Working knowledge of WHMIS requirements.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
  • Flexibility to adjust working hours based on project and operational requirements.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to regularly lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting throughout the workday.
  • Ability to safely operate vehicles, forklifts, and material-handling equipment.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
