Job description

Summary:

The Materials Manager will oversee all operations associated with Materials Management to include production planning, inventory management, router maintenance, receiving, warehousing, material handling, obsolete inventory, and inventory accuracy while improving safety, quality, and productivity. . Consistent execution with primary focus on BOM alignment and material flow by plan component coverage, validate routings, synchronize deliveries to takt time by controlling the operations to no line stoppages and control excess WIP.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adequate supply of materials and capacity to enable on-time deliveries, minimize lead-time, and avoid manufacturing delay and stock out situations
  • Oversee and manage material management through inventory reconcilations,cycle counting, and item setup-maintenace
  • Oversee router creation and maintenance
  • Direct and oversee all activities within the Warehouse and Distribution areas
  • Train, motivate, and mentor staff to ensure readiness for promotions as opportunities arise
  • Establish and maintain strong intra department relationships with colleagues across functional areas to achieve business objectives
  • Establish and support a work environment of continuous improvement to grow profitability and market share
  • Establish, monitor and ensure all inventory reviews for obsoletion, unit model phase out component settings and movement to PS warehouse
  • Make certain staff has tools, instructions, priorities, and motivation to complete assigned tasks
  • Research and suggest technological improvements which may entail automation that increase overall efficiency and safety as well as keeping Stulz at the forefront of the industry
  • Oversee creation, training, and, maintaining ISO processes and work instructions that relate to planning, routers, and inventory control including warehouse material handling

Qualifications:

  • Advanced knowledge of ERP/MRP sytems, SAP/S4/HANNA preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of SAP WM/IM and manufacturing software
  • Leadership, managerial, and project management skills
  • Familiar with ISO Quality systems and requirements
  • Knowledge of products and technologies including current and potential requirements preferred
  • Excellent analytical computer skills with Microsoft Office products
  • Strong planning, organization, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Extensive experience in materials and supply chain management; high mix, low volume, make-to-order manufacturing preferred along with high mix, high volume, make-to-order(Repetitive Manufacturing)
  • Expertise in MS Excel: data analysis, pivot tables, charting, and trending
  • Able to understand and interpret engineering specifications and drawings

Education/Experience:

  • BS/BA degree in Supply Chain, Business Management or related field and 7 years related experience, or MS/MA in Supply Chain, Business Management or related field and 5 years related experience
  • 4 years experience managing others
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in a discrete manufacturing setting
  • Minimum of five (5) years of related Inventory Control

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • APICS CPIM(Planning & Inventory) preferred
  • CSCP(Supply Chain) preferred
