Job description

Warehouse Material Handler
Program Overview
The Naval Array Technical Support Center (NATSC) is a U.S. Navy facility operated by Leidos. NATSC provides repair, refurbishment, upgrades, and testing of Navy towed sonar arrays that support submarine and surface ship operations. Leidos delivers production engineering, logistics, and technical services to help keep these critical systems mission-ready for the U.S. Navy and Foreign Military Sales customers.
Leidos' Defense Group is seeking a Warehouse Material Handler to support logistics operations at the Naval Array Technical Support Center (NATSC) in Newport, Rhode Island. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, is dependable, and is eager to learn. No advanced education is required-we provide training for individuals who demonstrate a strong work ethic and a willingness to develop new skills.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Load and unload vehicles and transport materials safely throughout the facility.
  • Receive, inspect, issue, and store materials in accordance with established procedures.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records using both electronic and paper-based systems.
  • Perform daily inventory audits and cycle counts.
  • Operate hand trucks, pallet jacks, and powered material handling equipment.
  • Package and prepare materials for shipment.
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and safe warehouse environment.
  • Follow all safety, quality, and security procedures.

Basic Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance. An Interim Secret clearance is required to begin employment.
  • Demonstrated willingness to learn, accept training, and follow established procedures.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
  • Previous warehouse experience is helpful but not required. We are willing to train motivated individuals who are dependable and eager to learn.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with standard office equipment.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds without assistance.
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 1-2 years of experience in a warehouse, logistics, shipping/receiving, or material handling environment.
  • Experience supporting warehouse operations or inventory management.
  • Experience reading or interpreting warehouse storage plans.
  • Previous experience supporting NATSC Newport as a Warehouse Specialist or in a similar role.

Additional Information
This position is covered under the Service Contract Act and is subject to minimum wage requirements as well as the minimum Health and Welfare benefit. Leidos will ensure that all provisions are met through their wages and benefits. The pay for this position will be $19.33/hr.
