Job description

Summary

​Vallen’s Storeroom Attendant is an individual contributor positioned within a customer’s location to fulfil daily receiving, stocking, issuing, and cycle counting of customer and/or Vallen inventory. They are responsible for maintaining a professional, clean and organized work environment.

- 1st shift, 6am-2:20pm
​-Training will be on first shift Mon-Fri for the first 3-4 weeks. Hours 7am-320pm.
​-Temp to hire.
​-When submitting a candidate, please provide last 4 of SSN and middle initial so manager can check if they are eligible to hold a badge at Caterpillar.
​-This position can be physically demanding. Associates may walk up to 4.5 miles daily and go up/down stairs an average of 18-20 times throughout a shift.
​-Someone with a good attitude, willingness to learn, and works well on a team would be the best match for this job.
​-DRIVER’S LICENSE IS REQUIRED.
​-Receives, stores, and issues hand tools, machine tools, dies, materials, and equipment in the customer’s industrial facility by performing the following duties: Receiving, Disbursing, Auditing, various other site specific duties.
​-Will drive battery operated cart between 3 buildings on campus on a daily basis doing deliveries, picking up material, going to the dock, etc.
​-Must be able to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment.
​-Good customer service skills required
​-Must be familiar with a computer.
​-Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
​-May use ladder to stock parts on shelves, up to 8 feet. Ladder is equipped with a safety mechanism that locks ladder in place and railings.
​-Previous warehouse experience a plus.
​-Forklift experience a plus but not required. Will certify on the job if needed.
​-Warehouse has heat in the winter, but no AC in summer - it can get pretty warm.
​-Steel toe shoes are required. Once converted to FTE - will be required to obtain steel toe shoes with internal metatarsals.
