Job description

Bunzl Safety is currently seeking a Warehouse Supervisor for our facility in City of Industry. The Warehouse Supervisor will be responsible for leading the day-to-day execution of outbound warehouse operations, ensuring that picking, packing, manifesting, validating, staging, and shipping activities are completed safely, accurately, efficiently, and in alignment with Service Level Agreements. This role provides hands-on supervision to hourly warehouse team members, monitors daily performance, supports workload planning, and reinforces standard work across outbound functions. The Supervisor will work with the team to support customer requirements, improve workflow, resolve operational issues, and maintain a culture of safety, accountability, urgency, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
  • Supervise daily outbound processes including picking, packing, manifesting, validating deliveries, staging, loading, and shipping, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Supervise and direct outbound associates across assigned work areas, ensuring labor is properly aligned to daily volume, priority orders, business-specific requirements, and service level expectations.
  • Manage outbound processes such as waving, allocation, order flow, shipment validation, and compliance with customer-specific requirements.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) including productivity, accuracy, backlog, labor utilization, and SLA performance; escalate issues and recommend corrective actions.
  • Utilize Warehouse Management System (WLM) tools and reporting to track workflow, identify bottlenecks, and ensure process compliance
  • Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures, safety standard, routing requirements, and company policies across all outbound activities.
  • Communicate effectively with management and cross-functional teams to resolve issues and maintain operational continuity.
  • Train, coach, and develop the outbound team, including cross-training, performance management, and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain accountability for time and attendance, payroll accuracy, monthly one-on-one meetings, and annual LEAP reviews.
  • Support operational performance and safety by assisting during high-volume periods including safely handling bins weighing approximately 55 lbs., addressing workflow disruptions, conducting root-cause analysis for issues, and maintaining a safe, compliant work environment.
  • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, urgency, and continuous improvement, ensuring compliance with all safety standards and company policies.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 3+ years of warehouse, distribution, or related operations experience required; prior supervisory or team lead experience preferred.
  • Outbound warehouse experience preferred, including picking, packing, shipping, manifesting, loading, order validation, and customer compliance processes.
  • Warehouse Management System experience preferred.
  • Ability to lead, coach, and hold associates accountable in a fast-paced distribution environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues, escalate appropriately, and support corrective action.
  • Ability to use data, system reports, and daily performance indicators to monitor workflow and support operational decisions.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task and prioritize competing operational needs.
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to contribute to a safe, respectful, and productive work environment.
  • High sense of urgency, accountability, and follow-through.
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 55 lbs. at times, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Bunzl Safety California's salary range is $70,304 - $78,000 plus bonus eligibility based on experience, education and geographic location.
