Job description

Warehousing & Logistics Manager 

Location: Plymouth, MI 

Travel: Approximately 50% 

Salary: $80,000-$100,000 annually 

About the Role 

Precision Garage Door Service is seeking an experienced Warehousing & Logistics Manager to lead warehouse operations, logistics, inventory management, and purchasing across our enterprise. This role is responsible for developing standardized processes, improving operational efficiency, ensuring inventory accuracy, and supporting warehouse leaders across multiple markets. As a key member of the leadership team, you'll work cross-functionally with Operations and Executive Leadership to build scalable systems that support our continued growth. 

Key Responsibilities 

Warehouse Operations & Strategy 

  • Lead warehouse and logistics operations across multiple locations.  
  • Develop and implement standardized warehouse processes and operating procedures.  
  • Design efficient warehouse layouts and establish organization, cleanliness, and safety standards.  
  • Monitor warehouse performance through KPIs and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity, and cost savings.  
  • Partner with Executive Leadership on long-term warehouse and logistics initiatives.  

Logistics, Inventory & Purchasing 

  • Oversee vendor deliveries, inventory movement, and logistics across all warehouse locations.  
  • Develop inventory control processes that improve accuracy and accountability.  
  • Manage cycle counts, physical inventories, and inventory audits.  
  • Oversee purchasing of warehouse equipment, tools, materials, and supplies.  
  • Build relationships with key vendors and assist with vendor negotiations.  

Leadership & Team Development 

  • Lead and develop warehouse managers and warehouse leaders across multiple locations.  
  • Establish performance expectations and foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.  
  • Coach and mentor leaders while supporting operational excellence across the organization.  

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field.  
  • 8-12 years of progressive experience in warehouse, logistics, supply chain, or distribution management.  
  • 3-5 years of leadership experience managing teams in a multi-site environment.  
  • Experience leading warehouse operations across multiple locations.  
  • Strong knowledge of inventory control, purchasing, logistics, and warehouse operations.  
  • Experience developing standardized operating procedures and improving operational processes.  
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERP systems, or similar inventory software.  
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel approximately 50%.  
  • Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or third-party logistics (3PL).  
  • Forklift certification.  
  • MBA or Master's degree in a related field is a plus.
