Job description

A midstream energy infrastructure corporation, is one of the largest infrastructure companies delivering natural gas and natural gas liquids in the United States. Their operations are based largely, though not entirely, on the Gulf Coast, particularly in Texas and Louisiana.

This is a minimum 6 month contract assignment with potential to convert to full time based on performance and business need. The contract portion of the assignment has no (PTO) paid time off (this includes no paid holiday and paid vacation). Contractors can request time off and take time off but please understand it’s not paid time off. If this is not a good fit, please do not apply.

Warehouse Technician:

The ideal candidate will conduct efficient inventory management practices and uphold safety and environmental standards to support our operational objectives. This role requires proactive materials handling capabilities, an inventory management systems acumen, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. As part of the business operations team, the Warehouse Technician is responsible for upholding warehouse operations and materials management standards, maintaining inventory control and accuracy, and execution on materials storage and distribution in support of capital projects and asset maintenance work.

Warehouse Operations

  • Maintain a safe and compliant working environment and business practices in accordance with Company and OSHA policies for warehousing and inventory materials managed.
  • Monitor and secure warehouse access and entry for authorized personnel only.
  • Engage as a cooperative business partner to field operations and maintenance personnel at local facilities for storage locations and inventory availability.
  • Inspect and maintain warehouse materials handling equipment in accordance with Company policy and procedures.
  • Support warehousing and inventory control audits, inspections, and investigations as required.
  • Flexibility to travel up to 25% as business demands arise, as well as during exception hour call outs or emergencies as required.
  • Perform other warehouse operations and materials management tasks assigned by business leadership.

Materials Planning

  • Conduct periodic demand planning and forecasting of inventory requirements for warehousing operations.
  • Ensure correct material requirements and accurate stock levels and balances are maintained in Company materials management system (MMS).
  • Maintain inventory items catalog on an ongoing basis to ensure warehouse stock in Company MMS is consistent with physical stock on hand.
  • Monitor and evaluate inventory turn ratios and usage KPIs for ongoing optimization of min/max levels and economic order quantities (EOQs).

Materials Replenishment

  • Ensure minimum stock levels are maintained on an ongoing basis and in accordance with material requirements and demand plans.
  • Re-order inventory materials in accordance with lead-time and usages to ensure timely replenishment, delivery and receipt of inbound materials.
  • Uphold inventory purchase requisition standards and protocols in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
  • Verify inventory delivery packing slips and other shipment information to confirm quantities accepted.
  • Mark received inventory materials and packages with identifying information for storage.
  • Unload inventory deliveries and conduct inspections to ensure shipments meet quality standards.
  • Monitor demand generation reports and KPI dashboards to ensure inventory re-order purchase requisitions are executed and processed on schedule and in accordance with product lead times.
  • Prevent inventory stock outs of critical spares and proactively report materials requirements and/or supplier corrective or preventive action plans for improvements.

Materials Storage

  • Sustain optimal warehouse configuration layouts and safety compliant inventory storage space and accessibility.
  • Maintain warehouse inventory listings and create new inventory item records for stock received and stored.
  • Maintain organization and labeling of inventory stock locations and bins.
  • Maintain accurate inventory bin transfer movement and appropriate storage requirements.
  • Uphold inventory handling and preservation standards and protocols in accordance with OEM guidelines and product warrantee requirements.
  • Maintain inventory conditions of stock items in Company MMS, ensuring inventory data records are accurately maintained.
  • Ensure upkeep of corrosion protection and conditioning activities to extend product life of stored equipment and parts.
  • Control material overages and damaged shipments in quarantine zones for returns processing.
  • Coordinate materials disposals of scrap or sales of obsolete materials with business operations.
  • Conduct periodic warehouse and material storage inspections and perform corrective storage actions as required.

Materials Distribution

  • Conduct proactive materials handling and inventory usage distribution to support material requirements on demand at facility locations and across Company business operations.
  • Maintain inventory usage standards and protocols for stocking, staging, issuance, and returns.
  • Perform materials picking and kitting for planned inventory reservations in accordance with maintenance schedules.
  • Perform materials and documentation preparations for shipment and transfers to other facility locations.
  • Manage material return authorizations and transactional credits of equipment core products.
  • Monitor inventory usage compliance in accordance with standard procedures and perform corrective actions and continuous improvements to maintain usage control.
  • Operate and maintain warehouse equipment such as forklifts, overhead cranes, and pallet jacks, as required.

Materials Control

  • Transact inventory management processes in Company MMS and maintain inventory records control for warehouse operations.
  • Monitor materials management transactions and KPI dashboards to manage inventory balances, replenishments, and usage activity.
  • Maintain and report critical spare inventory and material condition rates with business operations.
  • Perform regular inventory cycle counts and reconciliations in Company MMS, ensuring inventory data records are accurately maintained.
  • Adhere to Company standard operating procedures and policies (SOPs) for materials management and warehouse operations activities.
  • Adhere to Company environmental, health, and safety standards and policies.

QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS):

1. Education:

· High School Diploma or GED required.

· Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Distribution, or Business Administration preferred.

2. Experience/License/Certification:

· 2 years minimum of warehouse experience required.

· 2 years of experience in the energy industry is preferred.

· Valid forklift certification and OSHA training credentials are a plus.

· Valid driver license is required for usage of Company vehicles.

3. Skills/Competencies:

Minimum Qualifications

· Safety adherence to personal protection protocols and attire/gear required.

· Proficient with communicating in English, both verbally and written format.

· Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in an industrial facility environment.

· Ability to perform physical activity – includes lifting up to 40 pounds, operating materials handling equipment, and walking, standing, and bending for extended periods.

· Ability to learn industrial equipment and parts specifications for plant and pipeline operations.

· Ability to work with a sense of urgency and effectively prioritize time and execute tasks in accordance with schedules.

· Capable of performing multiple responsibilities with daily work activities.

· Experience with Microsoft applications, including MS Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel are required.

· Experience with materials management systems and inventory data – Maximo and Oracle inventory applications is preferred. Experience with data analytics and reporting applications – Power BI or Tableau is preferred.
