Job description

The Inventory and Kitting Specialist is responsible for assisting with all aspects of stockroom inventory management, including cycle counts, inventory pulls, and organization. The role focuses on ensuring that the right components are accurately gathered, organized, and staged for assembly or final order fulfillment. This position reports to the Director of Business Operations & Logistics and will work onsite at ZincFive headquarters in Tualatin, Oregon.

Inventory and Kitting Specialist Job Duties:

  • Support corporate revenue and customer service objectives by working closely with all internal departments, ensuring accurate on-hand inventory and timely deliveries of kitted production materials
  • Kit, pick, package, and ship product orders between company locations as directed by inventory control using a variety of commercial shipping methods
  • Maintain organized staging areas and kitting stations to maximize throughput efficiency
  • Proactively identify shortages or defective parts that could disrupt production schedules and communicate materials issues with procurement
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and physical audits to reconcile digital records in the ERP system with actual shelf stock
  • Assist shipping with incoming and outgoing shipment audits to ensure timely and accurate transactions within the company ERP system.
  • Operate computerized inventory management systems (SAP by design, Peaxy and Excel)
  • Assist shipping and inventory control with returned material processing and universal waste disposition
  • Verify inventory transaction details to ensure accurate posting to general ledger accounts and flag any issues that may require accounting adjustments
  • Generate inventory reports for management and maintain Company key performance indicators that measure kitting speed and precision and inventory accuracy
  • Identify and suggest solutions for inventory and process improvement including kitting time improvement

Job Requirements:

  • 4+ years of inventory control experience in a warehouse
  • Minimum two years of inventory management, kitting processes and system transactions
  • Experience working closely with customer fulfillment, shipping, quality and production teams
  • Experience in ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, etc.
  • General experience/understanding of handling electro-mechanical products, batteries, and raw materials
  • High level of detail and computer system proficiency is needed
  • Ability to read, interpret and work from documents such as work orders, packing slips, operating procedures, and inventory reports
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing methodologies
  • Experience of MS Office 365 Suite
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with all levels of corporate staff
  • Excellent time management, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Must possess strong work ethic and be customer service centric
  • Ability to work independently under general supervision
  • Must be able to work overtime and/or weekends when needed to meet critical deadlines
