Job description

The Inventory and Receiving Supervisor serves as the primary plant point of contact for inbound receiving and inventory control activities, ensuring timely resolution of issues and accurate inventory records. They will also supervise the daily operations of the receiving and inventory control teams, including work prioritization, adherence to procedures, and performance support. In addition to partnering with supply chain, operations, and finance to drive continuous process improvements and address root causes impacting inventory accuracy, service levels, and operational efficiency.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Internal Warehouse Inventory Control -
    • Manages the cycle counting program and reports performance.
    • Leads physical inventory preparation and execution.
    • Identifies and resolves problems creating discrepancies.
    • Participates in the development of inventory control procedures, and trains personnel on their procedures.
    • Organizes and assigns work of the inventory control clerks, receiving clerks, and inventory material handlers.
    • Reports conditions or events which might negatively impact inventory control metrics and operational performance; explores and communicates possible courses of action.
  • Inbound Receiving and Put away -
    • Develops procedures for receiving and put away of product. Trains personnel on their procedures.
    • Organizes and assigns work of the receiving clerks and inventory material handlers.
    • Ensures team assigns fixed bin locations for new items.
    • Ensures timely put away of inventory and closer of put away transfer orders in the system.
  • Instructs, guides, and assists employees in the performance of their work.
  • Prepares performance evaluations.
  • Develops project plans and supervises the efforts of project participants to achieve specified objectives.
  • Lead and participate in the integration of new technologies (examples: handheld devices, bar coding, transaction automation).
  • Leads and participates in cross functional optimization projects, including sizing of bins, location of racks, replenishment processes, and inventory pull according to market-rate-of-demand.
  • Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT
  • BS in related field or equivalent relevant experience
  • 2-4 Years experience in a Manufacturing/Distribution/Inventory Control environment
  • SAP Knowledge - Inventory Management, Warehouse Management, Production Planning
  • Strong data analytics and problem solving skills
PREFERRED SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to supervise people.
  • General knowledge/understanding of GAAP, Inventory Control and Cycle Counting procedures, Receiving, Manufacturing Operations, Planning, and product costing.
  • Experience in LEAN/Six Sigma/Continuous Improvement Initiatives.
  • BW and Power BI experience a plus
