Job description

1st shift: 7:00am-3:30pm Monday-Friday with OT when needed

Pay: $27.00 Per hour

The Maintenance Inventory Clerk is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring the availability of maintenance spare parts, tools, and MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) materials within the manufacturing facility. This role supports maintenance operations through strong inventory control practices, cycle counting, inventory organization, and effective management of the maintenance storeroom. 

This position plays a critical role in minimizing equipment downtime by ensuring critical parts and supplies are available, properly stored, accurately tracked, and readily accessible to maintenance personnel. The ideal candidate combines strong inventory management skills with a willingness to work directly alongside maintenance technicians to support equipment reliability, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the facility. 

Key Responsibilities 

Inventory Control & Accuracy 

Maintain accurate inventory records for maintenance spare parts, consumables, tools, and MRO supplies  

Execute daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts; investigate and resolve inventory variances  

Monitor min/max inventory levels and reorder points to prevent stock outs and excess inventory  

Ensure proper labeling, organization, and storage of maintenance inventory within the storeroom  

Track critical spare parts and ensure availability for preventive and corrective maintenance activities  

Maintain FIFO/FEFO practices where applicable for lubricants, chemicals, and shelf-life materials  

CMMS & System Transactions 

Execute inventory-related transactions in CMMS systems including receipts, issues, transfers, returns, and adjustments  

Ensure system inventory accuracy aligns with physical inventory counts  

Process work order material allocations and maintenance-related inventory transactions  

Support inventory reconciliations between CMMS system and physical counts  

Assist with setup and maintenance of spare part master data, locations, and BOMs  

Auditing & Compliance 

Support internal and external inventory audits  

Maintain audit-ready documentation for maintenance inventory transactions and adjustments  

Ensure compliance with company inventory control procedures, safety standards, and applicable regulatory requirements  

Assist in maintaining accurate records for critical spare parts and maintenance consumables  

 Maintenance Support 

Work closely with Maintenance teams to ensure timely availability of parts, tools, and materials required to support plant operations.  

Issue, stage, and deliver parts, materials, and consumables directly to maintenance technicians to support planned, preventive, and emergency maintenance activities.  

Provide hands-on support to maintenance technicians during equipment repairs, troubleshooting activities, changeovers, installations, and improvement projects as needed.  

Assist technicians in identifying, locating, and verifying replacement parts for production equipment and facility systems.  

Assist with the removal, replacement, and organization of spare parts, motors, gearboxes, bearings, belts, sensors, and other maintenance-related components.  

Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, lifts, and other material handling equipment as required to safely move maintenance materials and equipment throughout the facility.  

Assist with maintaining organization, cleanliness, and 5S standards within maintenance shops, parts rooms, and work areas.  

Support technicians with basic mechanical tasks, equipment inspections, lubrication activities, and parts preparation under the direction of maintenance leadership.  

Assist with identifying obsolete, damaged, or excess inventory and support continuous improvement initiatives related to storeroom efficiency and inventory accuracy.  

Maintain a strong commitment to safety by following all plant safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, GMP standards, and housekeeping expectations while working in production and maintenance environments.  

Physical Requirements 

Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.  

Ability to work in warehouses, maintenance shops, and production environments.  

Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, and work around operating manufacturing equipment for extended periods.  

Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with changing priorities and emergency maintenance situations. 

Qualifications 

Required 

2+ years of inventory control or storeroom experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or warehouse environment  

Experience using CMMS, or other inventory management systems  

Proven experience with cycle counting, inventory auditing, and inventory reconciliation  

Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills  

Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment  

Basic computer proficiency with Microsoft Excel and inventory tracking systems  

Preferred 

Experience supporting maintenance operations in a manufacturing environment  

Knowledge of maintenance spare parts, MRO inventory, and industrial equipment components  

Experience in food manufacturing or regulated environments  

Understanding of FIFO/FEFO inventory practices  

Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and work order systems
