Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

Kelvion is seeking to hire an Inventory Cycle Counter Lead to perform various duties in accordance with day-to-day monitoring and transferring of inventory through the performance of cycle counting and material transactions (verifications and transfers) to ensure that all materials are properly verified and are reflective of reported inventory in the EPR system. These activities primarily include counting of physical inventory as assigned by supervisor, executing material transfer transactions in the ERP system, providing material transport team with inter-plant BOL details for shipments from the ERP system. Cycle Count employees further assist Warehouse, Production, Quality, Engineering, Customer Service, and Finance coworkers in identifying, locating, and communicating material discrepancies.



OVERALL OBJECTIVE OF ROLE

To perform counts and execute transactions that ensures the integrity of inventory accounting, and that inventory reporting (physical on-hand versus ERP counts) are accurate and in accordance with company policies, while acting as a role model for cycle counter co-workers as the team strives to complete work according to the work instructions and/or company policies.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

  • Coach and train co-workers on procedures and work instructions specific to identifying and communicating discrepancies in reported quantities and locations of inventory and verify discrepancies are reported to Inventory Control Lead.
  • Transact inter-plant material transactions efficiently and effectively so Material Handling co-workers and deliver on-time to Production schedules.
  • Verify product location and material picking cadence follows FIFO objective and communicate any inconsistencies to the Inventory Control Lead.
  • Adhere to all cycle counting and material control procedures and policies.
  • Always exhibit good interpersonal skills and a pleasant demeanor.
  • Support all planned physical inventories by verifying proper labeling of product and locations, and count, document, and communicate physical inventory. Support cycle counters if a concern or question arises as part of the work assigned by Inventory Control Lead.
  • Ability to work non-standard hours as needed.

  • Report any property damage, safety incidents (including near misses) or material damages immediately to Inventory Control Lead, Warehouse Manager / Regional Management.

REQUIREMENTS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES)

  • Computer skills: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to learn various functions assigned within the ERP (Syteline, SAP or other) manufacturing system.
  • Communications Skills: Ability to receive, listen, and understand in-coming messages (Teams and Telecom), verbal, and written communication from Shipping & Receiving, Engineering, Finance, Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain co-workers, outside transportation firms and supplier documentation.
  • Reasoning: Ability to apply general rules to determine resolutions of requests and be able to process numbers as needed to assess quantities and transactional (ERP System) history to assess and communicate inventory accounting accuracy.
  • Strong understanding of inventory management practices such as ABC analysis and cycle counting.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (required levels)

  • High school diploma or GED required, with an Associateโ€™s degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years prior experience in shipping, inventory control, material handling, and/or receiving in a manufacturing / factory environment preferred.
  • Good analytical and logistical thinking abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
