Inventory Control Specialist – Parts

Location: Highland Heights, OH, 44143

Job Type: Full-Time

Department: Service Department

Reports To: Service Director

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist to manage and maintain our copier and imaging equipment parts inventory. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate stock levels, timely replenishment, and proper organization of all parts used in the servicing and repair of copiers, printers, and multi-function devices. Your work will directly support the service team and help ensure minimal equipment downtime for our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate inventory records for copier parts, toner, and supplies using inventory management systems (e.g., ERP or dealer management software).
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and full inventory audits; investigate and resolve variances.
  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure key parts and consumables are in stock and reorder as needed.
  • Receive, inspect, and label incoming copier parts and supplies for proper storage and tracking.
  • Track part usage trends and support service technicians by ensuring fast, accurate parts availability.
  • Coordinate shipments of parts between warehouse and field technicians or service locations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the parts room or warehouse to ensure quick access and accurate stock rotation.
  • Assist with returns, warranty parts processing, and restocking procedures.
  • Generate inventory reports and collaborate with purchasing and service management to anticipate demand.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, ESD protection, and proper handling of sensitive electronic components.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in supply chain, logistics, or a related field is a plus.
  • 2+ years of experience in inventory control or warehouse operations, preferably in the copier, imaging, or office technology industry.
  • Familiarity with copier parts and terminology (e.g., drums, rollers, fusers, toner, etc.) is strongly preferred.
  • Experience using inventory management systems (e.g., E-Automate, SAP, NetSuite, etc.).
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, and data entry skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other standard office software.
  • Ability to lift and move packages up to 50 lbs.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work with field technicians and service teams.
  • Ability to analyze trends, proactively determine what inventory is increasing/decreasing.
  • Explore alternative suppliers.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience in the copier or office equipment service industry.
  • Understanding of logistics for multiple service territories or field tech distribution.
  • Basic understanding of ESD handling procedures and safe storage of electronic parts.
  • Forklift certification or warehouse equipment experience is a plus.
Work Environment

Fast-paced warehouse or parts room setting. Frequent standing, lifting, bending, and walking. Occasional coordination with off-site service techs and delivery personnel.
