ACCOUNT MANAGER (Industrial Products)

Location:            Houston, TX (South of Willowbrook Mall)
Pay:                 Salary + 80% paid M/D/V + 4 wks PTO
Position Type:    Full-time permanent position; onsite required
 

Our team at The Recruiting Pros is conducting a search for an Account Manager on behalf of a growing global manufacturer and distributor of industrial hardware, fasteners, and related products. This role is responsible for managing and developing relationships with an assigned portfolio of customers, serving as the primary point of contact for quoting, order management, inventory coordination, and overall account performance. The Account Manager is accountable for accurate order processing, effective service delivery, and alignment of supply chain activities with customer demand, partnering closely with internal teams to ensure customer requirements, delivery schedules, and service expectations are consistently met while supporting revenue growth and long-term customer satisfaction. This newly created position reflects continued company growth and offers the opportunity to join an organization that values employee contributions and is committed to delivering high-quality solutions to its customers. This is a full-time, permanent position requiring 100% onsite work at the company's location.

Routine responsibilities will require you to:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for an assigned portfolio of customer accounts, maintaining consistent communication to address requirements, resolve issues, and ensure high service delivery standards.
  • Review and process EDI and non-EDI customer orders, verifying accuracy and alignment with delivery schedules while tracking order status through fulfillment.
  • Monitor and analyze customer forecasts to ensure timely receipt, identify demand changes, and flag discrepancies before they impact supply commitments.
  • Partner with Purchasing, Planning, and Supply Chain teams to align material availability with customer demand and adjust supply plans as conditions change.
  • Develop and maintain material requirement plans, monitor inventory levels, resolve discrepancies, and support obsolescence and program data management.
  • Maintain accurate data within ERP systems, analyze demand and inventory trends, and prepare account performance reports for internal stakeholders.
  • Identify and resolve order, delivery, and inventory issues by coordinating across Supply Chain, Quality, and Finance teams to drive timely solutions.
  • Support new product and account setup including documentation, contracts, NDAs, and compliance requirements, and liaise with Finance on invoicing discrepancies.
  • Stay current on company products, services, and relevant industry and customer market conditions to identify account development opportunities.


Required education and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred
  • 3–5 years of experience in account management, customer service, or a related sales support role, preferably within industrial distribution, manufacturing, or supply chain environments
  • Hands-on experience with inventory management, demand planning, and order processing including EDI
  • Proficiency with ERP systems; Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) strongly preferred; Microsoft Office Suite required with strong Excel skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; conversational Spanish a plus
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and work both independently and collaboratively
  • Customer-focused mindset with a proactive approach to service delivery and issue resolution
